Who are you working for now?

I am doing a new gonzo for Smash Pictures and a small feature for Sin City this month.

Are you doing exclusive work for them?

I am non-exclusive and freelance for hire at this time.

What is your latest release?

Chloe Jones in Body Talk from New Sensations.

Tell us about it?

Body Talk is a cute feature about L.A. radio talk show hosts Chloe Jones and Ron Jeremy taking phone calls from a sex hungry audience and offering up their expert advice. Ron was great with Chloe, they had the chemistry I was hoping for making it a funny pairing. The sex delivers a little something for everybody. All hot performances with great talent.

Give us a break down, who else was in it?

Julian with Jesse V for the first time. Very passionate. Chloe Jones with Michael Scorpio. Michael accidentally slips his finger in Chloe's ass Whoops! Just kidding. He meant to of course, and she loved it. Daisy and Lee Stone pair up in the back of a Rolls limo. Small women love Lee's big dick. Taylor Rain and Tony Tedeschi frenzy fuck in a cheap Motel on their lunch break. Chloe gets her world rocked by Nikita Denise for the first time always a pleasure working with Nikita. Last but not least, a three way Dungeon scene with Lezley Zen, Shyla Styles, and Trevor Zen. Shyla anal û woo-hoo!

Let's go back a little, when did you start working in adult? What was your first job in the industry?

Four years ago I came to porn valley. My (before porn) friend Michael Raven asked me to drive out and shoot camera for a movie called The Johnny Swinger Show. I experienced porn for the first time live through the cam. Of course it was weird filming hard sex for the first time. I was used to naked people and softcore films back in Texas but hardcore is way different. The weirdest was watching a girl I just met walk on the set and take three guys watertight, fuck that flipped me out. I found porn very pro and friendly. Raven asked me to join him full time editing and I went home, got my crap and here I am.

What were you doing before that?

I had just finished working on the Pantera Home Video Part Three home music video. That was a huge project and it took about a year to complete. It was very difficult for me but I learned a ton and enjoyed the experience. I was responsible for going through over four years of footage that the band had taken on the road. Huge effort went into it and it debuted at number one of the Billboard sales chart. Yay!

Did you watch a lot of porn? Who were your inspirations, people you liked etc?

Not really I worked in topless bars and nude bars as a Manager and DJ for years so I was used to seeing naked women all the time. I watched porn every so often it wasn't until I started watching John Leslie's stuff that I took interest. That was different. So was Michael Ninn, big efforts from those guys at that time changed a lot of people's opinions of porn. Porn was becoming an art form.

Did you always want to direct?

I have always wanted to make movies and directing means making movies the way you want so of course I always wanted to direct. In porn, there is not enough time or money to always get exactly what you wanted on tape but I have always delivered (what I think) are above average efforts for the money. There are highlights in every movie, some movies more than others. I think that some shows really come together and look amazing as a whole. I would say that Fast Cars & Tiki Bars and Hearts & Minds are the two that came off exactly like I wanted. In everything else there are missing elements for any number of reasons. Time gets away from you on the set. There is no magic checkbook to get it back it's gone and you have to keep moving forward to get as much done as you can. It's the ultimate independent movie making.

How long did you have to wait before getting your shot?

Just over two years.

What was your first movie?

Chances from Wicked Pictures.

When you were directing for Wicked, you worked a few times with Stephanie Swift. What was it like working with her?

Stephanie is great and I mean that. She has become a close friend to me and I adore her.

You seem to get great performances from her, what's your secret?

Stephanie is a mirror you get back exactly what you put into her. In other words if you care, she cares. I think that Stephanie is a huge talent in adult and her fan base reflects it.

What about the other Wicked Girls, what were they like to work with? Serenity? Devinn?

Serenity and Devinn Lane are both very professional and friendly. They both delivered exactly what I asked of them. What else could you ask for? Other Wicked girls, Sydnee Steele, I knew her before porn so we are close she is just a doll. Julia Ann, we worked together on Roadblock for the first time. Julia was completely naked in near-freezing weather for me need I say more? Okay she's as beautiful in person as on television even more so. Wicked girls from the past: Jenna my all time favorite person to hang with on the set I would like to think that I might be able to Direct her one day. A truly lovable person for a superstar. We worked together on Dreamquest and Hell on Heels which I edited and shot Behind The Scenes for.

Early on, you did some very stylish, MTV type movies, did you always have features in mind? Do you prefer features to the all-sex movies?

I still want to do those types of stylized movies but the guys writing the checks don't these days. Female driven feature storylines are what gets a budget right now. Since I am a freelancer I have to make what the companies are looking for. I hope that a company will take an interest in me and let me make the kinds of movies that I want to make with budgets that allow me to make them great. I'm looking for opportunities.

What are some of your favorite Wicked titles?

Fast Cars & Tiki Bars, Flash!, and Roadblock.

What are some of your favorite New Sensations titles?

Hearts & Minds, Innocence, and Sweetwater.

What do you like about features?

Features are challenging the bigger they are the more problems. There are so many things to do especially for me since I art direct and wardrobe all myself. Take that into consideration after I Produce, Write, Direct, Edit, Shoot, etc it can be a huge weight to carry.

How tough is it to get through the dialog scenes?

It can be brutal if the talent hasn't done their homework. Happens a lot in porn people show up un-prepared or a last minute replacement doesn't have a clue. Very difficult porn is hard work most of the time. It's also a lot of fun most of the time. I love my work.

If you could pick your best movie, what would it be? Why that one?

Hearts & Minds Everything came together, the look, the sex would be hard for anyone to top that effort if they wanted to make a war flick. (btw why haven't you watched this one yet?) I like making period pieces.

I had my copy snagged by another staff writer, I'm getting another one to watch any day now. What do you have planned for the future?

I have been working on my website content www.redezra.com. I have really enjoyed it. I love the model/photographer relationship it's smaller and more intimate than having a crew. Very self rewarding. I have also been working toward releasing my first movie. I will keep you posted on both of these developments. Takes time to do it all I'm not in a hurry right now û I have learned to pace myself lately.
