Ah the good old says. When porn was…what am I talking about? 1990 was part of that dead time for porn. The cheapie features still ruled the roost, gonzo was just getting started and a young film maker (yes, FILM) named Andrew Blake was set to put the smut world on its ear with another memorable project that would one day be considered a classic. Blake broke new ground with Night Trips 1 and House of Dreams and then followed up with this film. At a time when most porn was shot on cheap video equipment, he made what could only be called classy art porn. The first Night Trips helped turn Tori Wells into a huge star. While this one didn’t do the same for Paula Price, it helped launch the career of another future Vivid Girl, Racquel Darrian. It also cemented Blake as the king of pretty girl porn.

Paula Price has taken over the Tori Wells role for Night Trips 2. She opens the movie by bringing her still natural tits to her mouth where she can lick the nipples. She launches into a fit of self love that jumps from room to room and takes us from reality to her fantasies faster than you can say “Is this supposed to look so grainy?” We get some flashes of a full sex scene, but mostly this is just to warm us up.

She goes to visit a doctor to discover why she is horny all the time. The doc, played by Randy Spears, is happy to help. They wire her up and monitor her dreams. Is she cured? I guess we’ll never know, but they didn’t make a Night Trips 3 so who knows? This movie is kind of a transition for Blake. Night Trips 1 was much easier to follow and focused more on sexual heat. This one is more like the work he has done since. It’s beautifully shot and packed with eye candy from start to finish. Paula is perfect for this movie. She has a beautiful face, an amazing body and manages to add some heat even when the style of the movie is working against her. This is much better as an artistic venture than a stroke flick. Blake underutilizes some major talent here. Bridgette Monroe, Tami Monroe and Racquel all could have done much better, but in Blake’s big picture, they are just beautiful brush strokes to be blended into the larger work. It’s a great movie for couples and still a classic, but a big step down from the first Night Trips flick.
