This fourth installment of Digital Playground‘s award-winning Island Fever series is the second to make it onto the HD-DVD format. Like the other titles in this line, IF4 is perfect for the HD format. It features some of the most stunning women in the industry having beautifully shot sex in gorgeous locations. DP super stars Jesse Jane, Teagan, Sophia Santi and Jana Cova highlight a cast that I thought couldn’t be more beautiful. Seeing them now in HD is the next best thing to being there. The picture quality which was already impressive as hell on DVD is even sharper this time around. Since the content is the same, I will refer you to the original DVD review for specific sexual action and focus this time on the HD-Specific stuff.

The action starts out with some gorgeous girl on girl action between Jesse and Jana. This is followed by a similar scene between Teagan and Sophia. In both cases the sex takes place in and around water which I love. The action looked great on the old format and is even better now. (That is going to be a central theme of this review. Get used to it.)
Kinzie Kenner gives us a long tease and then the first boy/girl sex of the movie. She and Marco hook up on a makeshift jungle set. Though the sex is in slow motion, it is still rather amazing. There is clearly good chemistry between the performers and it qualifies as both romantic and hot. If stunning beauty is one theme in this review, the other is slow motion sex. I’m not a big of it, especially when you can see that there is so much actual heat between the performers. Let’s just get that out of the way and let it apply throughout the movie. I know why they do it and it certainly looks beautiful. At the same time I would wager that very few of you out there are jerking off in slow motion like Marco does as he unloads on Kinzie’s tongue.
Gorgeous Teagan is back for some solo tease on the beach. One of the reasons these Island Fever movies work so well in HD is because of the water and sand. There is something very, very hot about a picture so clear you can see the individual grains of sand on a woman’s back. Combine that with the beautiful reflections in the water and you have a backdrop so gorgeous that even an old raincoater like me has to take notice. Evan gets to take Teagan on the beach and we are treated to a lovely blowjob that is so energetic that her perky little boobies are bouncing with every bob of her pretty head. I’m pretty damn impressed watching her take nearly all of that long thing down her throat. Even in slow motion that is pure stroke material. If you have never fantasized about screwing a hot chick on the beach, you will after watching Evan drop the hammer on Teagan in this one.
Jesse Jane comes back and follows Teagan‘s lead. Her solo/tease segment is crystal clear and sets us up for a high impact romp with Scott Nails. The added fun of sex in the water makes this scene stand out. Scott’s packing serious meat and Jesse takes it like she can’t get enough. This is one of those scenes that you just know would be a killer gonzo sex scene if we saw it at full speed with the original sound. I want someone to steal the original footage for me so I can watch that.
Since they have all four girls together it is only fitting that Jesse, Teagan, Jana and Sophia would have their own little beach party. AT one point they hold Teagan up in the air and take turns with her. That will put some starch in your shorts for sure. This great footage is followed by some sexy tease by Jana alone. In these single girl scenes you can really notice the improved picture quality.
Teagan comes back for some tease footage that is shot through a waterfall. This may be the most beautiful water-oriented tease footage I have ever seen. It makes me want to jump right in there with her. Jesse and Sophia have perhaps the best girl on girl scene of the movie. Sophia is so tall she can kneel and still comes face to boob with Jesse‘s rack. The leg shots in this scene are incredible and they finish off in the water.
After teasing us so well, Teagan hooks up with Evan for a second time. Most movies don’t repeat pairings, but this one does is a few times. (Tough not to with so many scenes in one project.) There is more water footage this time around and some standing doggy that looks like it should make everyone want to run out and fuck on the beach. (Or make everyone want to fuck Teagan.)
Jesse and Scott work so well together that they give them two more scenes. Even though the action is exquisitely shot and perfectly lit, there is still that spontaneous heat thing going that make us believe that they are pretty much going at it on their own.
Teagan mixes is up late in the movie with scenes featuring Jean Val Jean and Tommy Gunn. She is stunning in both scenes and handle large cocks as well as anyone else in this movie. It is pretty easy to see how Teagan went from being a gonzo favorite to a contact super star. There is some blowjob footage here that is so hot I almost didn’t care that it was in slow motion.
Not t be outdone, Jesse proves that she is still the top girl in this movie by ripping through some beach tease and a killer scene with Evan. They get into some very acrobatic sex that would probably wear most people out, but leaves Jesse with a huge smile on her beautiful face.

Lots of good stuff here. There is a an audio commentary if you want to listen in while watching the movie. There is a super high quality photo gallery of hard and soft core shots from the movie. We get a Behind the Scenes that is very entertaining. The cast members do little Island Confessions and Bora Bora Moment to give us a closer look at their experiences. The BTS photo gallery comes with running commentary as well. Evan Stone gives us a crazy little pirate movie for fun. There are also trailers, star bios and of course a great blooper reel.
Island Fever 4 was one of the best looking adult movies I had ever seen. The HD version is all that and then some. The picture quality was stunning, now it is even more crisp and vivid. The sound was great and now it has even more of a mainstream sound to it. The women and the sex are the same of course, but the new format makes them even more beautiful. When you factor in how frustrating I find slow motion sex, you have to realize what a big deal the A rating is. This isn’t even the type of move I generally like and I still love it. There is sexual heat, stunning beauty and a real quality to this project that makes it a must see. I don’t expect all porn to look this good on HD, but Island Fever 4 was meant to be seen in this format.
