Adult movies about war are always a tricky thing. After all the intent of a porno flick is to turn people on. Does a serious movie about war and loss really make people want to get it on? This is a high quality production with great action sequences, quite a bit of blood and gore (for a porn flick) and some sex scenes to break up the violence. Pinned down at a crash site, a group of US servicemen (and one woman) must wait for escape. Battlefield scenes are wrapped around sweet memories of home and one unlucky lady (Ashlynn Brooke) reads a letter she never expected. The sex scenes are heavy on the eye candy and even offer a bit of romance at times. They aren’t exactly soft, but definitely feel like feature sex scenes. Ashlynn Brooke is the star, but we have to wait until the finale to see her. When we do, she shines as always, giving a hot performance in a romantic scene that even includes kissing. Cassandra Cruz is very good in this movie, providing a good sex scene and then showing off her tough side in uniform. The other girls are easy on the eyes as well. Sadie West and Marie McCray are especially perky. The battle scenes are very good and even the dialog works more often than not. As a feature Hearts & Minds 2 is interesting and very well shot. The sex scenes aren’t half bad either. They are longer than in many features and while they remain couples-friendly are far from the sleepy affairs we often see. It is a very solid effort and should receive plenty of award consideration.
