This is Vivid’s latest new take on an old classic. We have seen them do this with Debbie Does Dallas (Many times) and Devil in Miss Jones. Now Paul Thomas and Sasha Grey are set to take on the Gone With the Wind of adult films. Deep Throat is not just a classic, it is perhaps the classic. Just say the name and everyone knows what you’re talking about. Of course they can’t call this Deep Throat because of an ugly legal battle that only helped to shed a lot of light on this movie before it even hit the shelves. Director Paul Thomas needed the right woman for this role. She had to possess a skill set that could live up the legendary hose swallowing abilities of Linda Lovelace. There aren’t a whole lot of women in the adult business today who can really deep throat. To make it harder to find the right girl, Thomas has put together a movie that is more than your average porn flick. The script is tight, smart and genuinely emotional. To fill this role Thomas grabbed up Sasha Grey and he couldn’t have made a better choice. She is beautiful, handles the script perfectly and shows deep throat skills that are simply incredible. Sasha handles the bulk of the sexual action, giving us a couple of boy/girl scenes and a number of blowjobs that should probably earn her every oral sex award the industry as to hand out. Don’t be shocked to see her picking up a handful of acting awards either. She is fantastic in this movie both sexually and as an actress. She is the best thing about this movie by a long shot. Besides Sasha and her obvious charms and talents the script and feel of the movie are second and third in line. The script is very tight and worth watching from start to finish. I liked the story and loved the way the movie was shot. It is moody and smart with some real emotion. Throw in good supporting performances from Tom Byron and Penny Flame (Who also shine together in a hot sex scene.) If there is a weakness here it is the lack of traditional sex scenes. So much time is devoted to Sasha and her special skill that we go long periods of time without watching anyone fuck. The deep throat BJ scenes are great, but there are times when the pace seems off and we get a big orgy type scene and some half scenes. Normally I would hate a movie where half the sexual action comes in this form, but the good stuff in Throat more than makes up for it. It isn’t perfect, but it kept me watching from start to finish. Looking to pay her way through school Sasha takes on a job at a local peep show. She is shy and awkward in front of the small crowd, showing her ass and uses a dildo.
