This is a Paul Thomas feature that is heavy on story, has a ton of sex and will probably leave you wondering why you watched. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s just so damn dark. Hillary Scott, Tom Byron, Tommy Gunn and Herschel Savage serve as great delivery vessels for dialog that is often quite sharp. They also spend a good deal of time fucking and not being happy about it. The sex scenes are often short, choppy and part of a plot that just isn’t very happy. Does that make it bad? No, but it definitely limits the audience. If you’re looking for a lot of happy people balling their brains out, look elsewhere. If you are looking for long anal romps and filthy sex, look somewhere else. If you want to see a dark movie about unhappy people fucking their way through a serious script this is a good one. Some of the editing tricks that drive me crazy during the sex scenes make for a great story. So I found myself enjoying this movie for unusual reasons. Hillary is great looking as always, even in the dreary scenes. Lanny is fun as well. I wouldn’t call this a great stroke movie, but it is an interesting ride.
