Vanilla Sex in Fetish Attire
I saw and reviewed this film several years ago and I don’t really have much to add to what I said back then, except now, Zrotique seems even more plastic than ever.
Skye Blue is a former adult film star from the mid 1980s turned director who makes erotic films for couples. She now works almost exclusively with Bizarre Video and Sex Z Pictures creating films that are often fetish or gothic inspired.
This film is set in a BDSM dungeon club called Zrotique, with Alexis Amore as the lead Madame. Each scenario takes place in a different part of the club with effective sets. Zrotique, like many of Blue’s other fetish-type films, is pure eye candy. Beautifully designed studio sets featuring exquisite male and female performers, enhanced lighting and camerawork are just a few of this film’s best features. With this distinct attention to visual style (in particular the sexy, hard-bodied men) this film is slanted toward a female audience.
This film delivers some fine hardcore all sex action, although there is nothing particularly deviant or different about the erotic acts, just basic sucking and fucking. The main star, Alexis Amore, who takes up about 50% of the screen time, is a bit of a letdown. Although quite sexy and hot, her performances are stilted and she comes across as entirely fake from her silicone tits and acrylic nails, to her plastic voguesque (staged posing for the camera) performance. Each scene begins with a solo performance by Alexis, in which she dirty dances or masturbates.
The film has five scenes in total including: a Mistress/slave scenario between Alexis Amore and Jean Val Jean set in a bar; a dungeon scene between Brad Baldwin and Nikki Hunter as chained imp; a lesbian lick-fest between Alexis Amore and Nikki Loren that features masturbation with balloons; Renee Pornero as a nasty Mistress who seductively tortures her blindfolded slave-boy Nick Jacobs; and finally, an uneventful scene between Harmony and Reno D’Angelo that begins mid-scene and ends up feeling like an add-on.
Overall, this film is a quality production, with stylistic camera and lighting, hot performers and some hardcore action. It is, however, a film for mainstream viewers who want the look of fetish sex, but not the hardcore S/m aspects. There are some softcore BDSM elements for those into the BDSM fantasy without the bruises including fetish wear, mild bondage, balloons, candle-play and blindfolds. It is perhaps a good film for those who want to spice up their vanilla sex with a little fantasy role-playing, without any real element of danger.
