As usual, the awards seasons gives me a chance to see some of the anime titles that are nominated. This is one of those titles and it’s pretty solid. There seem to be a number of small stories at play here and most of them involve virgins. How do we know they are virgins? Well beyond the dialog, the chicks bleed, quite a bit. There are some elements of the supernatural, schoolgirl fantasies and even some mind control. It’s kind of a mess in that regard, but the animation is pretty good and the virginity elements are played out nicely.
The first scene features a shy boy seduced by a girl who wants him to take over. Despite his lack of experience, he does the job for her. Why do these movies seem to lose story at about the halfway mark? There is some bizarre space battle finale that just wraps this thing up in the most odd way ever.
