DIGITAL PLAYGROUND RECEIVES 14 NODS FROM EMPIRE
Digital Playground received 14 nominations from leading E-tailer, Adult DVD Empire. Island Fever 3, which was directed by Joone and features Digital Playground’s exclusive contract stars Jesse Jane and Devon, earned 6 nominations including the prestigious “Best Overall DVD” and “Best DVD Extras.” Joone’s, Virtual Sex with Briana Banks received a nod for “Best Interactive DVD”; his Virtual Sex series has dominated this award category since the inception of the Empire Awards. Digital Playground’s Robby D., pulled in nominations for Jack’s Teen America: Mission 1 and Contract Star, both titles feature Teagan Presley. Loaded starring Jesse Jane received 4 nods, including “Best Feature DVD” and all the acknowledgements cement an additional nod for Digital Playground in the “Best Overall DVD Studio” category. The Empire Awards honor excellence in DVD technologies; the 2004 nominations reflect achievement in 18 categories including “Editor’s Choice Award”, “Best Selling DVD” and the “Viewer’s Choice Award,” which is chosen by consumers. Adult DVD Empire Editorial Director, Shannon T. Nutt says, “We believe that this year’s nominees are outstanding selections in their respective categories and really showcase some of the advancements adult DVD has made in the past year.” Site publicist, JT Smith says, “Titles are nominated and voted on by a panel of critics comprised by Empire staff and other aficionados of adult entertainment. In 2000, Empire named Digital Playground’s Virtual Sex with Tera Patrick “Best Interactive DVD.” and All Star received a trophy for “Best DVD Extras.” In 2001, Empire presented Island Fever with the awards for “Best Selling DVD,” “Best Video Quality” and “Best All Sex DVD. Joone’s Virtual Sex with Devon also received “Best Interactive DVD” and Forbidden Tales earned trophies for “Viewer’s Choice,” “Best Menu Design” and “Best Feature.” In addition to a bevy of trophies for their specific titles, Digital Playground was named “Best DVD Studio.” In 2002, Digital Playground’s Rush won in 5 categories, including “Viewer’s Choice” and “Best Feature DVD”. Joone’s Island Fever was named “Best Selling DVD” for the second year in a row and Virtual Sex with Janine secured the “Best Interactive DVD” trophy. Last year Jesse Jane: Erotique was honored with both ‘Viewer’s Choice’ and ‘Best All Sex DVD’. No Limits, was named ‘Editor’s Choice’ and Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane was named ‘Best Interactive DVD,’ making it the fourth year in a row that Joone’s highly acclaimed Virtual Sex series took Empire’s ‘Best Interactive DVD’ accolade, a close out in Empire Awards history.
