XRentDVD.com Nominated for 2006 AVN Award

SANTA ANA, Calif. ” XRentDVD.com, a leading adult DVD rental and sales web site, has been nominated for the Best Retail Website – Rentals Award by Adult Video News (AVN). The nomination was announced Nov. 23, 2005 along with over 100 other nominations ranging from Best Film to Best New Starlet to Best Marketing Campaign.

“We are so proud to be one of the nominees for the 2006 AVN Awards,” said Vincent Sorvino, General Manager of XRentDVD.com. “Receiving this nomination is truly an honor and validates all the hard work our entire staff puts forth year in and year out.”

XRentDVD.com was nominated for the award along with four other competitors in the highly competitive arena of online adult DVD rentals. Of the five nominees, XRentDVD.com is the only one to offer weekly rentals of adult DVDs in addition to a subscription rental service.

“We all believe we have a good chance of winning because our weekly rental program really sets us apart,” Sorvino said. “Adult DVD consumers might not be interested in committing to subscribing to a monthly service. Some people just want to rent a single DVD and keep it for a week. I believe this helps to set us apart from the other nominees also up for the award.”

Every January, the AVN Awards Show, dubbed “the Oscars of adult” by Entertainment Weekly, celebrates the finest in adult films and videos with a lavish awards show and dinner. The first AVN Awards were handed out in 1984 with little fanfare compared to today. The 2006 version of the program has expanded to include 104 competitive categories and The Venetian Hotel and Casino will again play host to the adult industry’s biggest night.

Winners will be announced on Jan. 7, 2006 in Las Vegas and the show will be hosted by Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane.
