THE PIPELINE: APRIL 2004
As I write this column spring is just around the corner but the mercury is already pushing triple digits here in SoCal. Perhaps it is global warming that has contributed to this unusually hot start to the fun months, but I think it has more to do with all the happenings in Porn Valley. These women have a way to making temperatures soar any time of year. As we turn the pages on our calendars, the usually long, slow summer months might just be more interesting this year. There are a few new porn shows that I will try to attend to get the latest scoop for you. In the meantime, there is the usual news, gossip and general silliness.
With the calendar turning to April baseball has finally arrived. Since I’m on a roll with predictions (At the time of this writing, my picks, Ga. Tech, Ok. St, U Conn & Duke have all made the Final Four.) I am going to take a stab at major league baseball. Even though the Atlanta Braves seem to have won the last eighty division titles, this is the year Philadelphia finally catches them in the NL East. The Cubs pitching and Sosa’s bat will carry the Cubs past the Astros who should take the Wild Card in the NL Central. I think the Giants can hang on for one more year in the NL West, but don’t overlook the Padres. (Yes, the Padres.) The American League will have some interesting races this year as well. Give it to the Yankees again in the AL East with the Red Sox taking the Wild Card. The AL Central will go to Kansas City this year while the AL West will be a tight race won by the Anaheim Angels. As badly I as I want to pick a Cubs/Red Sox World Series, I am going to have to go with my head on this one. NY Yankees over the Cubs in six games to take the 2004 World Series. (And for the record, I have Duke over Ok. St. in the NCAA Finals. We’ll see how I did next month.)

In slightly less than a year with EXP, Slayer released a number of movies focusing on interracial sex including “Black Pipe Layers” and “Freshly Slayed.” His addition to the Evil Empire comes on the heels of their signing of Johnny Darkko and may signal a new direction for the company. After years of adding slowly to the roster, they have increased the team more aggressively of late. At this rate, the Evil Empire might actually take over all raincoat porn in a few years. That could set up a huge battle between John Stagliano and Larry Flynt for total control of the smut industry. (Sorry got a bit carried away there while watching my James Bond DVD box set.)
Hard working director Andre Madness is the latest shooter to form his own company. Madness Pictures will kick off in early April with three lines, “Valley Girls”, “Legal Tender” and “Ass Driven”. The lines are California girl, young girl and anal-oriented respectively. Madness, who also directs for Kick Ass Productions, will continue to be one of the hardest working men in porn.
Vivid’s Tera Patrick is back on line with her site www.officialterapatrick.com. Working with the folks at Club Jenna, Tera will be hard at work making her site as big as possible. In the meantime, she has hit the road for some dancing gigs and is busy promoting her upcoming video work. From the totally unconfirmed rumor file comes this fun little tidbit. Apparently long-time veggie only Vivid Girl Janine may be pondering a monster comeback. To get back and the guy she is apparently considering a one-scene comeback that not only breaks her no-boys policy, but crosses racial lines as well. According to the rumor, Janine will break her no-dick policy with none other than Lexington Steele. While the aim may be to rattle the cage of her ex (and the father of her baby) the end result would be a huge success for Janine and Vivid. Before everyone gets too excited, let’s remember a few things. First, it’s April and the whole thing could be a huge joke. Also, this is the kind of thing that Lex hasn’t been too keen on in the past. Being used as a tool for revenge just doesn’t seem like his style. Then again what guy is going to turn down a shot to poke Janine, especially on camera? Stay tuned, this one could nasty.
That is just about all the time we have for this month my friends. It’s spring everyone, go outside get some air, enjoy the sun. Just come back in a reasonable amount of time and stock up on your favorite porn flicks. Some of us need to make a living after all. Before I do, I must add a final though. I know that it’s April 1, but I’m not going to play any jokes again this year.
