This three disc set from Exquisite is a really impressive piece of work. It’s a solid parody with a lot of appeal plus some great bonus material. The original was one of the biggest hits of the 70’s with a soundtrack that was nothing short of legendary. I have to admit that I’ve never seen Saturday Night Fever, though the soundtrack was the very first album I ever owned. (Not sure which of those nuggets is more embarrassing.) Seth Gamble, Allie Haze and Kristina Rose play the leads in this adult parody that really goes for authenticity. Getting this one right was a challenge. It has a unique look and the music alone is quite an accomplishment. The dance scenes are fantastic. They have done a nice job of setting the atmosphere, but the choreography is simply fantastic. The story is all right and the primary actors do a really nice job. Seth Gamble’s Tony is pretty good and Kristina Rose handles herself nicely as the desperate and ditzy Annette. Evan Stone and Nicki Hunter get a chance to shine as Tony’s parents and the rest of the cast is good. Sexually this movie is solid, but not spectacular. Kristina Rose is the single best reason to watch this movie and also the single best reason to jerk off to it. Her extensive BJ scene with Tony is fantastic. She comes back later or a three-way that makes you wish the movie revolved more around her character. Allie Haze has a good scene at the end, but it’s too short to really stand out. Lexi Belle is cute as always, providing a lot of heat early. Nicki Hunter has a good scene with Evan and Brandy Aniston is a stand out as a disc slut who likes to fuck in cars. The sex is decent, but overall Saturday Night Fever is a parody that works because of a good feel, solid music and impressive dance sequences.
