Adult DVD Empire Applies for U.S. Patent Covering Its New VOD Features
Warrendale, PA (January 26, 2006) – Adult DVD Empire, three-time winner of the AVN award for Best Retail Web Site, is proud to announce the latest enhancement to its Pay Per Minute Video on Demand program. The “MyFlix™” technology was designed to be used in conjunction with the “MyClips™” technology that the Empire launched in October 2005. Both of these technologies have been officially registered with the United States Patent Office as of January 18, 2006.
The “MyClips™” technology enables users to select and save customized clips of video and store them in the customer’s account section for easy access upon future viewings; eliminating the need for the customer to search for their favorite content upon subsequent viewings. Each individual clip the customer saves can be easily accessed via their Empire account section. For example, if you enjoy a particular Jenna Jameson sex act-and don’t particularly care for the remainder of the scene-you can capture just the action you want to see, save it to your “MyClips™” section (all done from the viewing window itself), and view that specific section of video without accessing the entire movie.
Developed to enhance the pay per minute customer’s experience, the “MyFlix™” technology enables customers to create “custom” streaming videos that contain their favorite video content that has been saved in their “MyClips™” library. This will give customers the ability to view their own “highlight reel” of adult content without the need to access each movie-or clip-individually. “Our customer experience is second to none,” comments Adult DVD Empire Director of Adult Operations Mike Barry. “We want customers to enjoy our entire library of content. These latest advancements to Adult DVD Empire’s Pay Per Minute VOD model are the culmination of over six months of development and beta testing. Adult DVD Empire has recently registered both the “MyClips™” and “MyFlix™” technologies, as well as several community functions that are due to launch in early February, with the United States Patent Office as of January 18, 2006. The additional features set to launch include the use of tagging, the ability to share “MyClips™” and “MyFlix™” content publicly, the use of RSS feeds, and other exciting features that are designed to promote a sense of community among users.
