Girlfriends Films & Allie Haze’s $1000 Donation Supports Best Friends Animal Society

Superstar Allie Haze Joins Additional Industry Notables in Providing Care & Homes to Strays!

September 4, 2012 — RESEDA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films and adult superstar Allie Haze are supporting Best Friends Animal Society with a $1000 donation. The animal care organization is the September selection from Girlfriends Films’ charity program, as chosen by Haze. Popular lesbian performer Jelena Jensen also selected Best Friends Animal Society in November 2011, as did AVN Media Network Paul Fishbein in January 2012. Haze’s donation is dedicated to ensuring a time when there are no longer homeless pets.

Girlfriends Films calls on its strong community of fans and followers to join Allie Haze in the prevention of homeless pets. Donations of all sizes may be made directly to Best Friends Animal Society at https://www.bestfriends.org/donate/give.cfm?tc=WDGENA.

“I chose this charity because I believe animals have a special place in everyone’s lives,” says Haze. “Before I started in porn, I volunteered at animal shelters in my home town and also assisted many animal rescues by fostering and rehoming rescued animals. When I was 18, I attended a trade school and received my certification as a Vet Assistant, working in many different clinics.”

Haze continues, “I am now the proud doggy parent to two beautiful English Bulldogs. Best Friends Animal Society stood out to me because they rescue and rehome animals from all walks of life, from dogs to cats, and even birds and pigs! I know this donation will be put to good use.”

Allie Haze has appeared in over a dozen Girlfriends Films movies, including “Women Seeking Women: Volume 60,” “Twisted Passions 6,” “Road Queen: Part 15,” and “Field of Schemes: Part 8.”

Girlfriends Films has a long history of charitable contributions, having donated over $20,000 in 2011. Last year the company recently restructured its charity program from an annual end-of-year donation to an ongoing, monthly program. AVN Media founder Paul Fishbein kicked off the 2012 giving with a donation to Best Friend Animal Society, followed by Tanya Tate’s gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition, XBIZ Managing Editor Dan Miller’s donation to the American Red Cross, AVN Senior Editor Mark Kernes’ donation to the Guttmacher Institute, RayVeness’ selection of Treasures, and more.

Any Girlfriends Films performers interested in participating may apply by emailing the following information to PR@GirlfriendsFilms.com: name, AIP charity of choice, reason(s) for selecting the charity. Chosen performers will be asked to submit a personal photo depicting the performer engaged with the charity, the charity’s mission, or a similar charitable act. The photo will be used for promotional purposes.

About Best Friends Animal Society:
Best Friends Animal Society is guided by a simple philosophy: kindness to animals builds a better world for all. In the late 1980s, when Best Friends was in its early days, roughly 17 million dogs and cats were being killed in shelters every year. Despite the commitment of shelter workers to the animal in their care, the conventional belief was that little could be done to lower that terrible number. Best Friends’ No More Homeless Pets campaign created a new vision: A grassroots effort to placedogs and cats who were considered “unadoptable” into good homes, and to reduce the number ofunwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs. Since then, the number of dogs and cats being destroyed in shelters has fallen toapproximately 5 million a year. There has been much progress, but there is still much more to do. The work of Best Friends is supported entirely by the donations of its members. Through the generous hearts and hands of people like you, they can ensure animals who come into the care of Best Friends will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.
