“TOP 50 GREATEST IMPORT DVD’S OF ALL TIME” LIST
Joone’s “Pirates” was named one of Home Cinema Choice magazine’s “Top 50 Greatest Import DVD’s of All Time” and received cover mention and insert in their June 2006 issue. “Pirates” is the ONLY adult DVD to make the list. Coming in at # 38, “Pirates” ranks above Hollywood blockbusters “Godzilla,” and “Clerks,” and alongside “T2,” “Kill Bill,” “Sin City,” “Batman” and “Legend.” Home Cinema Choice dedicates an entire 32-page supplement to the 50 flicks that made the cut. In their review, Home Cinema Choice states, “[Pirates] is a rip-roaring swashbuckler punctuated by 10 trouser-tenting sex scenes in which Jolly Rogers get hoisted, main braces get spliced an some keels get well and truly hauled… In fact [Pirates] takes adult movies to a whole new level and it’s a small wonder that “Pirates” won just about every ‘adult’ award going.” Additional kudos were given to Joone for his commitment to HD, “[Digital Playground has] already given us two of the best HD features on disc, namely ‘Island Fever 3’ and ‘Pirates.'” Home Cinema Choice is the UK’s ultimate home entertainment magazine. This publication reaches Philips target market for new home cinema products and technologies.
