Rog Podcasts Covering the 2013 AVN Awards Voting
As I did last year, I am going to do a series of podcasts focusing on the 2013 AVN Awards. I will post the clips here for you to enjoy.
As a voter for the past several AVN Awards, I have been lucky enough to take part in this huge event. The podcasts will cover the process as well as break down several of the categories. They will highlight some of my favorites and discuss some interesting choices and the “can’t miss†titles/performers from the past year.

As a fan of many ethnic lines, particularly Black Male on White Women or Latinas in general, I wish there were more categories devoted to this area than others; realizing the limits of human endurance some of us already reach during voting. For the foot-centric titles, not my usual area of expertise, I rely heavily on how much tease is included and how much fun the performers are having to vote on them (when time permits).
Gonzo, one of my big favorite genres, can be tricky too because it is easy to rely on heavily favoring a series out for years that is very formulaic (the balancing factor being just how much I like that formula) against a newer one that tries different things in creative fashion. I like the outdoor tease, copious use of oil on the ladies, and superb casting so there is another wealth of strong titles to pick from this year.
Strap-on, something my GF really likes, is hit or miss for me. If it gets too fake in the set up, I lose interest a lot faster than usual, the role playing aspects and casting becoming key ingredients to higher ranking. This holds true for most fetish niches I try to vote in.
In general terms, I look for eye contact between the players, pacing, and some kind of connection (knowing it is all fantasy and performances), the primary focus being on what the category is specializing in. Like you, I don’t reveal who I rank as #1but in most cases, anyone watching a category that has read even a handful of my reviews will know approximately where each title stands.
