ADULT DIRECTOR AXEL BRAUN TO SPEAK SATURDAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO

CHICAGO – (February 15, 2013) – Award-winning adult producer/director Axel Braun will be the featured speaker at the first annual Sex Week at the University of Chicago. His remarks will follow a screening of his film Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody, winner of eight coveted Adult Video News (AVN) Awards including Best Selling and Renting Movie of the Year.

The seven-day on-campus Sex Week program has featured 40 events on a wide range of sex-related issues. According to the Chicago Maroon newspaper, Braun, “who has directed over 400 adult films, is arguably the biggest star who has signed on to participate.” Third-year student Angela Wang, an organizer of the event, said of the agreement by Braun to participate, “I got pretty lucky with that one.”

Braun, the son of legendary porn-pioneer Lasse Braun, was honored last month the AVN Awards (known as the “Oscars of Porn”) as Best Director-Parody for his work on Star Wars XXX, and made history by winning the Director of the Year-Body of Work award for the third consecutive year.

Braun will talk about his career in the adult film business and will focus on his success in the past several years producing best-selling parodies of comic icons such as Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and others that have been praised by the “fan-boy” universe for their meticulous attention to detail and high production values.

“I salute the organizers of Sex Week at the University of Chicago for putting together a great program that treats sex and sexuality with respect. It should provide students with much needed information, and it is a great honor for me to participate in it.” says Braun.

Ms. Wang told the Chicago Maroon the goal of the Sex Week programs “is to have people realize the importance of communicating about sex and making sex into a more deliberate thing. People understand that it’s an integral part of their lives but I don’t think a lot of people take the time to or they don’t have the tools to examine it.” In addition to the Axel Braun presentation, events include a “Great Oral Sex” panel and on Sunday a “I HEART ART DAY,” featuring a giant Twister board and a warning not to bring dates.

Braun’s movies are exclusively distributed by Vivid Entertainment, the world’s leading adult film company.
