Vice, Heat, Fan Mail & Celebrity Junk
I hope you’re all finding a way to keep cool on what has turned out to be another warm weekend. I’m beating the heat with a little bit of AC, a trip to the movies and as much time in the water as possible. Forgive me for being a bit nostalgic for those teenage summers when I would have spent all day, every day at the beach. Oh man, those were the days.
Got through another month’s worth of reviews with a full day to spare. July was Lethal Hardcore month so I did seven titles from Stoney Curtis’ company. There were a number of really good titles, but my two favorite were Confessions of a Teenage Anal Queen and Hot Bods & Tail Pipe 20. I’m still not sure what company I will feature in August, but whoever it is, they will get eight reviews. Why? Because at the end of this month, there will be no new VHS reviews. I’ve gone to 40 DVD reviews. The reasons are obvious and I may still review a classic tape every now and then, but for the most part it will be DVDs and Websites on the main page.
Mrs. Rog sent me off to the movies early Saturday to check out “Miami Vice.” I proudly confess to being a total Vice junkie back in the 80’s. I love the show on every level and was totally geeked up for the theatrical version. It was nice to get into a theater before the crowds and be able to enjoy the flick without being surrounded by chatty folks. As a fan, I am happy to report that the movie kicks ass. Collin and Jamie are perfectly cast, the movie is undated well, shot in a way that fits the original feel and doesn’t cheese things up. In addition to being a whole lot of fun, a cinematic plate of eye candy and a good way to spend two hours, this Vice also features Li Gong as the lead hottie and damn. Damn I say, damn she’s sexy. Our newest toy reviewer, Savana Switzer is back from vacation and has a new review for everyone to enjoy. Check out her take on The Power Buddies Teal Tickler. Though it didn’t exactly rock her world I think we can all agree that this young woman knows how to keep it interesting. I know she appreciates all of your feedback so email it in to me and let her know what you think. (Or post to the forum.)
Lance Bass made news this week by coming out. Are we shocked that a boy band member is gay? Do we care? I’m still trying to figure out how this guy thought he was going to be an astronaut. Was he trying to be the first pile of rocks to go up in space? Seriously, Lance is about as dumb as can be. Scary. Also scary..Mel Gibson driving drunk. (Allegedly.) Dude, come on. Like that Kennedy kid who popped two months ago, you have to know better. Hire a freaking driver you dolt. Anyone rich who gets popped for DUI is just incredibly dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb…yes almost as dumb as Lance Bass.
I plan to expand the Website Review section in the near future. It seems that a lot of great porn is available only through pay sites and it seems like I should shift some focus over there. I would really appreciate it if those of you interested in this section would take a look at the existing site reviews and give me some feedback on what you’re looking for. I know what I like in a site, but I would love to hear what you guys want in future reviews.
It was quite a week for me at the movies. In eight days, I saw Priates 2, Miami Vice and earlier this week took a trip to see “Clerks II.” Yeah I’m one of those people who was so in love with the first Clerks that I actually knew it by heart at one time. I have to say that I wasn’t expecting to love the new one, but I do. It’s a great movie with all of the same humor we saw back in 94 and a new, mature, cool, perfect ending. I actually haven’t been this satisfied with a movie in a very long time so I think everyone should see it. I’m guessing that if you read this site you won’t be bothered by the crude jokes and some of the rougher elements. (Added bonus: I used to eat in the Burger King where they shot the movie, just off Beach in Buena Park.)
I’ve been promising interviews with Kami, Ivan and Rob Black for some time. Look for them this week. Kami and Ivan’s are done and should be up soon. Rob’s is nearly finished. That one should interest those of you who follow the politics of porn. I’m pretty happy with it.

Alas, it was not to be. Though many of you visited www.BrookeSkye.com there weren’t a lot of memberships purchased. It’s going on again this weekend so we’ll see what happens. Come on, don’t you think that I would have been all over it if I had actually won. Think of the eye candy possibilities. Better yet, imagine the look on some lucky readers’ face when give the date away. (Yep, that was the plan.)
Someone emailed me asking if I was going to the Temptation Awards over the weekend. I actually was never invited so I didn’t plan it. It probably wasn’t an invite sort of thing, but whatever. I am sure it was a lot of fun.
Just a dash of politics. The morons in the House (Republicans AND Democrats) cranked up the minimum wage close to 40%. Nice work there dolts. Way to instantly de-value everyone else’s salary, create artificial inflation and make sure that even more employers will be laying off workers in favor of a cheap, illegal workforce. Looks like the Republicans aren’t giving us any reason to keep them in power at the same time the Democrats are doing their best to convince to keep them out of power. In the immortal words of Monty Brewster, “None of the Above.” Bad fucking idea morons!
