This is one of the most highly decorated titles of 2013. I’m a little late on the review, though I watched it during the big AVN Awards rush. It was one of my favorite movies last year and stands up as one of the best written and finely acted features in recent memory. The cast is small, but very impressive. Penny Pax and Richie Calhoun play the leads in this BDSM romance. Penny is a shy young woman who is just coming into her own sexually. She meets a handsome, extremely wealthy man with a twisted side. The story follows their relationship through BDSM, heartbreak and ultimately salvation. It’s a little heady at times and certainly not your typical adult feature. Three of the four scenes are between Richie and Penny. There really isn’t any room for anyone else. Riley Reid pops in for the first scene and is super cute of course. But the action fits the story so it overcomes any unorthodox pacing. The dialog between the two main actors is really excellent. Penny is outstanding and was deserving of numerous awards. She is also hot sexually, blossoming right before our eyes. Richie is also excellent, adding depth to a character that really needs it. The script is solid and the movie shot beautifully. It walks the line between fetish and feature nicely. This is a good couples porn flick for anyone who likes story, a bit of kink and more emotional depth than ninety five percent of the XXX features on the market. This is a heavily honored movie that deserves all of its accolades.
