RRFF Round Three: The Semi-Finals: We’re down to the top ten names in the RRFF polls. It comes down to the two brackets of five names with the top two advancing to the finals next week. The voter turnout has been good and most of the favorites have survived to this point. The Taryn Thomas early exit still amazes me, but most of the other fan favorites keep advancing.
Best Female: Bracket one is a serious battle between two of the top contenders for the AVN Award, Belladonna and Jenna Haze. Hillary Scott is one of the fan favorites and isn’t too far off from the leaders. I don’t see how we can have a top four with Hillary, but I don’t know if she can overtake Bella. Gianna may have been left off the AVN lists, but she still has an outside shot at making the top four in the fan voting. Bracket 2 is the Aurora Snow leg of the top ten. She’s running behind, but that is to be expected. Aurora has never polled as well in the RRFF as I would like to see. The other four girls are all over twenty percent at this point with Teagan in the lead by just two percent over Tory Lane. Katsumi and Naomi are also right in there. If Naomi can make it into the top four, she will be the only one with a shot to repeat Taryn’s double-win from last year. At the start of the voting, I picked Belladonna as the winner. So far, I’ve still got a shot at that one.
Best Male: With Erik Everhard going for a third straight win in this category he seems to be a lock for the final four. He has a big lead in bracket one. Past champ Lexington Steele is running third right now behind a surprise contender, Jules Jordan. The RRFF is about the only award in the industry that recognizes Jordan as a performer as well as an actor, but he’s going to have a tough time if he makes the finals. Manuel Ferrara is lapping the field in the other bracket, easily outdoing Rocco and Mandingo for a spot in the finals. He was my pick to win this award and should give Everhard a run for his money.
Best Newbie: This is going to be a battle of big name rookies. Naomi and Amy Reid appear to be on their way to the finals. These women could easily be up for Best Female so it makes sense that they would get this far in the group of rookies. Sasha Noxt is also in their bracket and though I’m really high on her, she seems to be too far back to overtake either of the other women. Sasha Gray is running close to fifty percent of her bracket, blowing the doors off of her competition. Georgia Peach looks like she might round out the top four, but she will have to really turn the heat to compete with the three big names in the finals. I picked Amy Reid so I’m good here as well.
Best Director: The thing that stands out in the semis is how dominant Evil Angel is. Nine of the ten directors still left in the competition either work for EA currently or have been part of the Evil Empire within the last twelve months. The one exception is Brandon Iron. He has managed to crack the Evil Empire hold on the top ten, but will have a tough time making it to the finals. Perennial fan fav Jules Jordan has a big lead and looks like he will be defending his title against Bellandonna, Joey Silvera and possibly Manuel Ferrara. Bella has already made it farther than any female director has in the poll. Manuel has an outside shot at being a dual winner. I picked Jules and I would be shocked if anyone else won.
Best Company: No major shocks here, Jules Jordan Video and Evil Angel are way out in front in their bracket. Red Light District has a solid lead in the other, but Elegant Angel is currently in second place. Anabolic has an outside shot at making it into the final four. Nine of the ten companies still in the running are companies who send me screeners and get reviewed more often on this site. I’m not sure if that tells us anything, but even Digital Sin was sending stuff until a few months ago. I went with the easy pick of Evil Angel and given their domination in the director category, don’t bet against them.
Best DVD: This is the new award and I’m looking forward to seeing which ones you guys pick. Jenna Haze Darkside is still putting up huge numbers, but the other titles seem to be pretty evenly matched. Fashionitas Safado, Manhandled, Anal Princess Diaries and Service Animals 23 all have a good shot at joining Darkside in the final four. I picked Fashionitas to win, but it looks like Jenna Haze may have this one in the bag.
Most Wanted Celebrity: Britney Spears won the first four years I ran this poll, but has dropped off the radar over the past few years. She is back now, leading her bracket by a slim margin over Salma Hayek. Bracket two has Scarlet Johansen way up with Jessica Alba sliding into the second slot. Jess was my pick to win, but whoever takes the title will be one super hot babe.
