RRFF: The Finals

And Then There Were four

The RRFF polls have entered the final week. It took just three weeks to whittle the fields of 100 down to the final four. Within a few days will we know who the favorites for for 2006.

Best Female: It looks like this one is going to come down to Jenna Haze or Hillary Scott. (Just like the AVN Awards probably will.) Teagan and Tory Lane are quite a bit behind. Anything can happen, but it looks like a win for either Ms. Haze or Ms. Scott. A first for either of them and another year without a repeat winner in this category.

Best Female: Also known as the Lex/Rocco/Erik award. Lex didn’t make the final four this year, but Erik is in contention. He’s running way behind Manuel Ferrara though. It appears that we may have a new winner in this one. Jules Jordan and Rocco are quite a bit behind. Erik will either make a huge comeback for a third straight win or we will have a new champ.

Best Newbie: The award that always gives us a new winner is shaping up to be a route this year. Sasha Grey is way ahead in this one. Amy Reid is arguably one of the top performers in all of porn, but she is running a distant third at this point. Naomi has an outside shot at taking down Sasha, but it would take as big a comeback as we have ever seen. Whichever woman wins this one will be one of the strongest Newbies we have seen.

Best Director: Can anyone even remember the last time someone other than Jules Jordan won this award? (Tom Byron 2000?) He has a big lead over Bella. Manuel had a shot at being a two time winner, but his odds of winning this as Jules does of beating Manuel for top performer. There is something that hasn’t happened before. A first/second flip for these two awards. Interesting.

Best Company: Anyone who bet on a company other than Evil Angel made a fools bet. The Evil Empire is still number one in the hearts and minds of porn fans everywhere. Jules Jordan Video is making a great showing, but this is pretty much a route.

Best DVD: This is the first time we have ever had this award so it’s history in the making. Jenna Haze Darkside is off to a huge early lead and looks to be leaving the other three DVDs in a battle for second place. Manhandled, Anal Princess Diaries and Ass Worship 9 are all quite a ways back. It looks like Jules will have to make some room on his shelves for yet another RRFF trophy.

Most Wanted Celebrity: After dominating the poll for years, Britney Spears disappeared for a while. She is back in the top four, but is running quite a bit off the pace set by Scarlet Johansen and Jessica Alba. This remains the one award where no winner has ever shown up to collect their prize. Gee, I wonder why.

Just a few more days of voting left and then it’s time to announce the winners and move on to the RRCC nominations. Good luck to everyone in the running and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to participate this year.
