Can two professional assassins find love in between hits? That might be the tagline for this movie if it were a romantic comedy. Since it isn’t that kind of movie, we will have to find a better one liner. Since it’s a Eli Cross movie we might need to find a new one liner, some rags to mop up the blood and the number of a good therapist. OK, don’t let that scare you. This is a solid, nicely shot movie with more than a little edge to it, but you should make it through just fine. Wet Work is the tale of a hired assassin played by Steven St. Croix who wants out. He gets the itch though and takes on one last job. Hired to kill artist Penny Pax, Steven soon discovers there is more to this job than meets the eye. The two embark on a whirlwind tale of romance, intrigue and double cross with lots of fighting and fucking along the way. Both leads in this movie are exceptional. The acting by St. Croix and Pax is fun to watch. The sex scenes along the way are solid if not always spectacular. The overall mood of the movie is dark so some of the sex scenes are largely in shadow. That works artistically just fine. The scenes also get better. After a mostly throw away opening boff between St. Croix and Euro babe Eva Karrera, Penny takes over. She has a very hot roll with Richie Calhoun with Steven watching from across the street adding a layer of voyeurism to an already good scene. Claire Robbins pops in for a decent little fuck before Penny dominates the second half. She and Steven have a hot fuck together.
