Hall of Fame, Out the Door

Hall of Fame: To the shock of no one, Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn both made it into the hall of fame on the first ballot. Equally unsurprising is the news that Big Mac didn’t get in. We can argue the whole steroid thing for weeks, but let’s focus on the good stuff. Cal and Tony were amazing and I can only wonder what assclowns actually left them off the ballot. I could get all sentimental about what watching Gwynn meant to me as a kid, but I’m on my way out the door to the airport. Besides, I can’t say it the way Tom Friend did for ESPN back when Tony announced his retirement. Enjoy that piece of great writing.

Eye Candy: If only I could fly next to Brooke Skye I would be a very happy guy. (Check out the mini skirt. Wow.)

Out the Door: I’m running around like crazy getting everything together for my trip. You have to love those last minute things that always seem to pop up. Big love and prayers to my friend April Storm who is going to miss the show this year. She’s recovering from some minor surgery and is OK, but can’t make the trip. I hope to see as many of you as possible. If you have my number, use it. If you don’t, look for me on the floor.
