FAME Awards, The Police & Lists

The Police: Those of you who read the blog know that I didn’t go to Erotica LA this weekend for several reasons. I was booked up all weekend with plans that I couldn’t, or wouldn’t change for any porn show, no matter how big. Since my family plans are of little interest to anyone outside of my family, I’ll only talk about the Saturday event that kept me away from the LA Convention Center and the X-Rated goings on inside. I had Police tickets for the Saturday show at Dodger Stadium. I’ve already gone over the whole horrible tale of how I missed the only show nearby when I was in high school. Let’s just say that this was a concert I have been waiting twenty-five years to see. Even though the floor/field seats ran nearly two hundred and fifty bucks a piece, I wasn’t about to miss the show for the world. Perhaps I will find time to dedicate a whole blog to the wonderful evening I had with Mrs. Rog and two dear friends. For now I will just say that as a Police fan, the concert was well worth the money and the wait. It was a nicely put together show with all the songs one would expect to hear. Was it the best show I’ve ever seen? Hardly. But in the end, it was very entertaining and perhaps now I can finally find it in my heart to forgive my mother for making SMHS’s resident Police expert one of the only kids in school who was left out the last time they swung through SoCal. (Just kidding, I secretly forgave her years ago.)

FAME Awards: I posted my ballot for the FAME Awards with my predictions last week. That opens me up for some serious Monday morning quarterbacking. So how did I do? Not that bad actually. 6 for 14 on the predictions. It was the bottom of the ballot that saved me though. I nailed the last five after whiffing on eight of the first nine. Ouch. How did the winners compare to my ballot? Only 4 for 14. Not a big shock. I’m more of a raincoater than most people voting in these awards. As much as I liked Island Fever 4, I have to wonder how many of the voters ever took the time to watch Corruption. It’s a fan poll though so there is no room for real complaint. I’m happy to see so many people vote and thrilled that Jesse Jane, Jules Jordan and Jenna Haze got the recognition they deserve. I also love that Stormy won, but without taking anything away from her, how can anyone NOT vote for Gianna for favorite breasts?

Paris is Out Yes folks, Paris Hilton is out of jail. Who cares? The world didn’t stop spinning when she was behind bars and it doesn’t get any better now that she’s out. Anything we can do to discourage any and all media outlets from plastering her face on our screens is a good thing. We all know and care WAY too much about Paris Hilton already. There, sermon over.
