I’m experimenting with a new idea for shorter, interesting interviews that I can turn over really quickly. As a sample, toy reviewer Savana Switzer came up with five questions for me. Let me know what you think of the format and let Savana know what questions you want her to ask next. Also, who would you like me to target for the next “Five Questions” interview. Any suggestions for questions?
Five Questions: Roger T. Pipe #1
Savana Switzer’s Five Question for Rog
1. Do you remember the first porn you ever watched?
What was the title?
I do remember the first porn I ever watched. It was called “Let’s Talk Sex.” I didn’t know that at time because I just found a random porn tape when I was babysitting. When the kids were asleep, I popped it in and watched about ten minutes of it. To be honest I was grossed out by it and didn’t even bother with another porn for about two more years. The first movie I watched “on purpose” was W-PINK TV with Christy Canyon. By that point, my parents had opened a video rental store. (This was 1984 and there were still video rental stores to be found.) When I was alone in the store I popped the tape in and watched it over and over. I was never alone long enough to get through the whole movie, but I would watch Christy’s solo scene over and over. Eventually I snuck the tape home and watched the whole thing. That was my first porn and the start of my huge crush on Christy Canyon. I’ve fantasized about that woman for 23 years and am still waiting for her to make those dreams come true.
2. You get to be totally and creatively in charge of
the Next Big Porn-o. Who makes up the cast? The
crew?
Wow, good question. I get to hire anyone I want for any job I want? And cast it any way I like? OK, I have this script that I wrote a few years ago. It is a XXX version of a mainstream movie that I liked, “Last Action Hero.” It’s a comedy with a lot of dialog and some minor special effects work. I would probably hire a few different directors for the project. Since the movie takes place both in the “real” world and on screen so I would probably hire two different directing teams. For the “real” world stuff I would have Robby D shooting the dialog and action along with some of the sex. The other sex scenes would be directed by Mike John just to really get that down and dirty feel. The “fantasy world” stuff would be shot by Jim Powers and Jules Jordan to give the dialog a funny and the sex enough gloss to make the hardcore look like a hot porn flick. As for the cast wow. There are two male leads. One is a porn star/action hero so I’d want Lexington Steele in that role. The other is a an every day guy who loves porn and gets lost in the adventure. I think James Deen would be great in that role. They do battle with an evil businessman and a corrupt TV preacher who would be played by Erik Everhard and Randy Spears respectively. The four main female roles would be interesting. The male lead has a cold wife with a dirty secret. I think that Jesse Jane would be perfect for that role because she can really turn it. There is also a coworker who has the hots for our everyday hero. For that one, I would have to go with Aurora Snow. She would be perfect. There is also a bitchy executive in league with the bad guys. Mika Tan for that one, no question. And the corrupt preacher has a sexy sidekick. I think I’d go with Hillary Scott for that role. The main porn girl would be Shay Jordan just because she is so gorgeous. There is also a non-sex cameo that would be perfect for Ron Jeremy. Wow, this would be one hell of a project. It would have a feature feel, a lot of humor, but the most important thing would be to shoot sex scenes that are hard-edged and gonzo. No soft feature sex here.
3. Where do you hope to be, professionally, five years
from now?
I would like to be doing what I am doing right now. The business is changing so the site will have to evolve along with it. DVD reviews may not be the way to go then. I would imagine I will be doing a lot more web site reviews as well as breaking things down by scene to accommodate the VOD customers. I would imagine we will also be doing more in terms of video interviews to go along with the audio and text. Just so long as I don’t have to show my ugly mug on camera. No one wants to see that. So basically I’m pretty happy doing what I’m doing and would love to continue with it.
4. What advice can you give to aspiring porn stars?
To be very sure that want to do porn. A lot of the stigma has been removed in recent years. People like Jenna Jameson have crossed over, but it still something that can come back to haunt you. You can’t un-ring the bell. Don’t be ashamed of what you are going to go. Better yet, don’t do anything you will be ashamed of. Know what you are getting into, don’t compromise on your dos and don’ts. Most important of all, be smart with your money. The chances are, your career won’t last ten years. You probably won’t be Jenna Jameson or Hillary Scott or Aurora Snow. You will have a chance to make really good money over a fairly short amount of time. Be smart with it and you can leave this business with a really good start on life. Oh yeah, and make sure you don’t skip your topless interview with Rog. That is really the key to a good career.
5. If you weren’t Rog T. Pipe, what would you like to
be doing with your life instead?
I love to write so it would be hard to imagine me doing anything else. If I get to pick a dream career it would be writing about sports, music or mainstream movies. At one point in my life I really wanted to get into sports broadcasting, but since I have “a face for radio” (Thanks Professor Ackermann) and a “voice for print” (Thank again) At this poine I am a little spoiled by working from home for some many years, so I would probably want to stick with something I can do from here. I think that print is the way to go. I would love to write the other things in life that I’m passionate about. Sports, music, movies, politics or travel.
