Horror Fest is Over, Back to the Porn
Monday: If last weekend was a perfect sports weekend, this one was a cluster fuck. The Sooners choked away their national title shot, (Everyone saw that one coming. They always lose a late season game to a crappy team) the Celitcs lost their unbeaten mark (I’ll take 8-1 and a two-point loss on the road) and the Chargers managed to show up and look like total crap once again. Good think I didn’t have a lot of time to focus on sports. I was too busy with Horror Fest 2007. Eight movies in three days is a lot. I think that is more movies in the theater than I’ve seen in the past year. I’ve done separate reports on the movies for those who want to read them. I did watch one with Traci Lords in it last night. You know, she really hasn’t aged well at all. We know that isn’t a great actress, but wow was she bad in Crazy Eights. Between the horror flicks and family in the house all weekend, I didn’t have a lot of time for porn or to scream at the TV. I’d call it a wash.

This Week: Got a lot to do this week. I know it’s a holiday week, but there will be plenty of stuff up on the site. Last week’s interviews with Su and Bridgette Monroe are first on the list. Robby D, jessica drake and Sasha Grey are also a possibility this week. That’s a lot of work, but hopefully you can find time in between the turkey and pumpkin pie to enjoy the new interviews. I’m also hoping to have another web site review. The review for AsianAndHot.com is up now. Give it a read and let me know if there is any other info you would like to see in the web site reviews. I will also be finishing up the brackets for the first round of the RogReviews.com Fan Faves voting. Got some exciting changes this year. Look for another ten DVD reviews as well, including my take on Amy Fisher Caught on Tape which should be available now. Also look for a review of Brandon Iron’s “She’s Half My Age.” It’s his first release from JM Productions and is in my DVD player right now.

Say Good Bye to OC: I’m in the minority of Angel fans on this one, but I am thrilled to see that they dealt Orlando Cabrerra to the White Sox. Sure he won a gold glove and was probably the second best hitter in the line up last year, but that contract has been an albatross around the neck of the organization for three years. He makes way too much freaking money and has been blocking the advancement of other players. Now he’s gone and I’m excited. Even if it isn’t the first step in a busy off season, at least I won’t have to hear any more freaking “Wizard of OC” crap. So long Orlando. Hello Jon Garland.
Eye Candy: Summer is gone, but thanks to BangBros the Summertime MILFs go on and on.
Fan Faves: This is the last week of submissions for the fan fave voting. If all goes according to plan the voting will start next Monday and go for twenty days. In the past I have noticed that 90% of the voting during our one week brackets gets done during the first 48 hours of voting. So this year we’re going to shorten the 7 day voting periods to 5 days. There will be four founds so we’re talking 20 days beginning to end. That’s a far cry from those 16 week things I used to do. Back in those days the brackets alternated, people found ways to cheat and I got weekly phone calls from Skeeter Kerkove about the results, who was cheating and a million other things I never printed. I think we all agree that the system is a lot better now. I’m hoping that the shorter periods and smaller fields will lead to even better voter turn out than we got last year. So make sure you have registered and please send over your list of favorites. I want to see as many names as possible for this year.

Bad Time For Agents: I’m not sure how closely you guys are following the industry and how agents are interacting, but it’s getting ugly. During both interviews last week, the subject came up and neither woman had good things to say about the new crop of agents. They seem to be fighting amongst themselves, getting a bad rap all across Porn Valley and are now allegedly running afoul with the law. It’s hard enough these days in the business without all this mess. I know that agents have always been a huge part of the porn world. When I first started watching smut years about it was Jim South and it was Reb and those guys ruled the roost. They are long gone now and this new crop seems to be a bit ruthless, pretty organized and if you believe the rumors, busy pimping girls out on and off camera. I wonder how many girls feel that they would be better off without the agents? I don’t really wonder how many directors feel the same. I think we all know that the number is pretty high.

Good Bye Mr. Whipple: Oh man, Mr. Whipple died. OK, so there is no such person, but many of you know who I’m talking about. Dick Wilson, the man who implored us for decades to not squeeze the Charmin passed away earlier today. His daughter announced that he died of natural causes. Wilson starred in over 500 commercials and has become such a part of pop culture that his catch phrase is known by just about everyone old enough to be reading this blog. Squeeze on Mr. Whipple, squeeze on.
