Top Twenty Time
Round Two: We’re on to round two of the Fan Faves with a lot of the usual suspects making it to the list of twenty. There are a few glaring omissions, proving that you can’t really predict these things. Congratulations to the two twenty and thanks for participating. Let’s take a closer look at round two and what happened in round one.
Best Company: No real surprises here. Jules Jordan Video stormed into round two and is pulling in better than half of the vote. It looks like Jules is shaping up for multiple Final 4 appearances. Naughty America has a slim lead over Shane’s World to join Jules. Digital Playground and past winner Anabolic are running away with round two. Those these companies are running neck and neck, they are easily outdistancing Private and Vivid-Alt. Evil Angel has won this award for more consecutive years than anyone can count and they are coasting to round three. Diabolic, New Sensations and Sex Z Pictures are all within one percent of each other for the second slot. Red Light District, Wicked, Zero Tolerance and Elegant Angel are in line to round out the top ten. The next round should be a true battle of the heavyweights.
Best Movie: The biggest story from round two is that two of the favorites for Movie of the Year from AVN, Fashionitas Safado Berlin and Upload aren’t on the list. How in the world did both of these movies get passed over? What makes it even more shocking is that they were both in the same bracket in round one. Neither of these movies could make the top four? I’d love to see a weighted ballot on this. On to the movies that DID make the top twenty. Jordan’s Ass Worship 10 is making a strong case to be his biggest hit of the year. Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze is still the leading voter getter in round two and could set up a nice Jules vs. Jenna thing a few rounds down the road. Not the Bradys XXX is holding off three very solid gonzo flicks in bracket two. It should join two features from bracket 4 (The all-feature bracket) in the next round. Babysitters is way in front with Operation Desert Stormy leading Debbie Loves Dallas for the next slot. The biggest shock might be in round five. Big Wet Asses 10 is leading Jordan’s Flesh Hunter 9 and a pair of Digital Playground movies. If you’re looking for a dark horse, this could be it.
Best Director: The annual race to see who will finish second to Jules Jordan is shaping up like we figured it would. With Jules pulling in nearly 60% of the vote, he is clearly on to the next round. Belladonna, who I believe was runner up one year, will probably survive from this bracket as well. Manuel Ferrara also has a safe lead and will see if one of his fellow Evil Angel directors, Rocco Siffredi or Joey Silvera can hold off Quasarman for the second slot. Bracket four is the closest overall with only 12 percentage points separating first from fourth. Jonni Darkko leads with Michael Stefano in second, but in a race this close we can’t count out Brandon Iron or Seymore Butts from a late charge. It won’t take anything quite so heroic for Mike John to advance. He has a comfortable lead and will see if Lexington Steele can hold of Hillary Scott or Courtney Cummz. Bracket 1 also gives us a tight battle for second. With Erik Everhard making a strong big to be in the Final Four in two categories, he has built up a substantial lead. Robby D, John Stagliano and Stormy Daniels are all within a single percentage point in a three-way battle for the second spot from this bracket. It should be an interesting final couple of days.
Best Female Performer: The big one took a disturbing turn when somehow Gianna Michaels didn’t make it out of the first round. Come on guys, there can’t be more than a handful of women who can even hold a candle to Gianna. What’s up with that? Most people agree that she was overlooked for the big award by AVN and yet here we go leaving her out of the top twenty. How does that happen? Bracket 1 belongs to Jenna Haze by a huge margin. She has nearly won this thing a few times and is set up to take it all this year. Katsuni has a slight edge over Aurora Snow. Lela Star leads the all contract girl bracket. Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana and Stormy Daniels are all within striking distance for second place. Brianna Love and Tory Lane seem to have secured slots from their bracket. Bree Olson and last year’s winner Hillary Scott are in a tight race with Teagan. This one could come down to the wire. Last years’s Best Newbie winner Sasha Grey has a huge lead and will attempt to take the title this year. Eva Angelina and Rebeca Linares are battling it out for the second slot. The top ten is going to be quite a battle and I would expect that this could be one of the closest final four votes yet.
Best Male Performer: It’s the familiar names doing well in round two. Erik Everhard has a few of these trophies already and is set up to make a run at another. Likewise for Lexington Steele. AVN left him off the list, but the fans are going to send him to round three. As always, Jules Jordan is polling really well. He is neck and neck with Lex and will be in the top ten once again. Tommy Gunn, Mr. Marcus, Manuel Ferrera, Michael Stefano and Randy Spears are also set to move on. This one really could go to anyone and we might well see a Best Director and Best Male Performer trophy going to the same guy.
Best Newbie: Who is the hottest rookie in porn? So far it looks like the fans think it is either Bree Olson or Shay Jordan. Shay is in a tight race with brand new Jenny Hendrix. They hae put some serious distance between themselves and early favorite Alexis Texas. The big assed blonde is going to have to make a serious run if she is going to make it. Bobbi Starr and Audrey Bitoni are doing likewise in their round. Rebeca Linares is another strong contender for this award and she is blowing away the competition. Who will finish second? Riley Shy has the advantage now and could make a surprise appearance in the top ten. Veronique Vega, Carly Parker and Ashlynn Brooke are separated by less than two percentage points. Bracket five has the Stevens sisters pitted against one another. Whitney is leading, but her sister looks to be knocked out by Ashley Jensen. The two women leading the way in this bracket are easily two of the hottest babes in the biz so they should do well in the next round.
Most Wanted Celebrity: Tough calls here because let’s face it, we would all happily bone silly any woman on this list. Looks like it will be Jessica Beil and either Stacy Keibler or Rose McGowan from bracket 1. Jennifer Love Hewitt (Guess we don’t think she’s too “fat” or anything) and either Halle Berry or Kate Beckensale from bracket 2. Jessica Alba has a huge lead with Lindsay Lohan, Elisha Cuthbert and Angelina Jolie going after round three. Scarlett Johansen, Kiera Knightly, Salma Hayek and Christina Aguilera will round out the field of ten babes we most want to stroke off to in the new year.
