2007 Empire Award Nominees Announced

Adult DVD Empire, the five-time winner of the AVN Award for Best Retail Website is pleased to announce the nominees for their 8th annual Adult DVD Empire Awards. Since 2000 the Adult DVD Empire Awards have recognized the very best from the world of adult DVDS.
According to their press release, “The mission of the Empire Awards is to celebrate and recognize Adult DVD products and studios that go above and beyond the average adult production – not only is the content of the DVD considered, but also the video and audio quality, as well as the overall presentation of the movie on the DVD format.”
Focusing on DVD aspects like “Best DVD Extras” and “Best DVD Commentary” the Adult DVD Empire Awards honor movies for more than just hot sex and big stars. This year they have added two new categories to the Empire Awards, “Best Amateur DVD” and “Best HD-DVD.” Both have become more popular in recent years. We should expect a “Best Blu-Ray” DVD next year I would imagine. (Another chance for Pirates to win an award.)
The nominees for the ‘Best Overall DVD Studio’ read like a who’s who in modern porn, Digital Playground, Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Hustler, Jules Jordan Productions, Vivid, Wicked and Zero Tolerance. This is a stellar collection of the finest in adult content, production and presentation.
Wicked leads the way with 22 nominations. Porn powerhouse Vivid is next 14 not including one for Vivid-alt. Digital Playground scored 11, not counting the one it will inevitably win next year for Best Blu-Ray DVD.
Operation Desert Stormy was the single most nominated title with eight noms overall.
The winners of the Empire Awards are determined by the votes of Adult DVD Empire in-house reviewers, staff, and select outside reviewers (Myself Included) as well as notable industry people.
The Viewer’s Choice Award is open to any and all who would like to vote, and the nominees are as follows:
