Production Powerhouse Receives 17 Major Nominations in Performance, Direction, Eroticism & Mainstream Appeal

LOS ANGELES, CA – (APRIL 14, 2016) – The X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) has revealed its 2016 nominees, and production powerhouse Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce its elite creative team has received seventeen major awards nominations. This impressive tally – the company’s strongest XRCO showing to date – finds Brad Armstrong, Stormy Daniels, Axel Braun, jessica drake and Asa Akira earning numerous accolades in the areas of performance, direction, eroticism and mainstream appeal.

Veteran writer / director Brad Armstrong’s outstanding track record was rewarded with five high profile nominations. His smash hit Starmaker received recognition in the Best Epic and Best Actress (Asa Akira) categories, while his acclaimed spoof Magic Mike XXXL: A Hardcore Parody earned a Best Parody (Drama) nomination as well as a Best Actor nod for Derrick Pierce. Fittingly, the uniformly high quality of Armstrong’s work behind the camera was distinguished with Best Director (Features) and Best Director (Parody) nominations.

Iconic actress, writer and filmmaker Stormy Daniels’ blockbuster western adventure Wanted made her a triple threat in 2016, earning the talented industry veteran Best Epic, Best Actress and Best Director (Feature) honors.

Parody king Axel Braun’s undisputed mastery of his chosen genre was recognized with a Best Director (Parody) nomination, while Parody of the Year (Comic) honors went to the Wicked Comix releases Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody and Barbarella XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. Turning to Braun’s Wicked Fairy Tales imprint, the filmmaker’s smash hit Peter Pan XXX: An Axel Braun Parody emerged as Wicked’s most acclaimed title of the current XRCO cycle, earning nominations for Best Parody – Comedy, Best Actress (Keira Nicole) and Best Actor (Steven St. Croix, Ryan Ryder).

Contract superstar and sexual wellness advocate jessica drake earned the organization’s coveted Mainstream Adult Media Favorite nomination in recognition of her tireless work as a sex educator and the continuing success of her award winning instructional series jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex.
