Max Vs. Skeeter, Skeeter Vs. Max
Why They Might Both Be Right
Of course as I finish writing this piece, things have really blown up over on AdultFYI.com, with Max calling Skeeter a “liar” who “get what’s coming to him” and Skeeter countering by calling Max a “twink” and challenging him to a pay-per-view fight. That may negate some of the calm tone I took with this, but I’m posting it anyway.
As a reader pointed out earlier this week, there are three sides to this story. What Max says happened, what Skeeter says happened and the truth. (Which is probably a combination of the first two.) Only they know what actually happened. I’ve had a lot of people email or comment on who said what and who is “right” in all of this. I’m actually going to point out the obvious and remind everyone that both of them might be “right.”
If we take Skeeter at his word and he believes that his account of the events is accurate what choice does he have other than to be pissed? He says that Max not only tried to rat him out, but actually tried to set him up for something he didn’t do. We don’t know if that is what happened, but if Skeeter believes it to be the case, then his anger fits.
Conversely, Max is being accused of something pretty shitty. If he knows or believes himself to be innocent then of course he is going to fire back with both barrels.
Only Skeeter and Max know for sure what happened that day, but we have all seen a couple of guys who were once quite friendly become mortal enemies. It makes for great theater, but it’s a sad tale all around. Either someone set someone up to take a fall or the whole thing was made up. Someone isn’t telling the truth and we may never know who.
As for the pay-per-view we all know that will never happen, but think of the fun we would all have covering such an event.
