Colette.com Makes Hardcore Beautiful
Colette.com is a spinoff of the largest privately owned adult site in the world – X-Art.com. It is the brainchild of X-Art visionary Colette Field and model Franziska Duff. Colette evolves the X-Art concept of “Beautiful Erotica†into “Hardcore Erotica.†Unlike her predecessor, this is not a collection of high-brow art-house material. It is not a project that blurs the lines between art and erotica. Instead, Colette.com delivers undeniably pornographic content. And that’s not a bad thing.
Colette.com is not without class. The hardcore porn that she creates is as beautiful as it is compelling. For the uninitiated, Colette’s work should convince you that hardcore porn is not without value. And for the porno fan, she might just broaden your horizons.
It should come as no surprise that Colette’s saucy project features many familiar faces from X-Art, including the insatiable Little Caprice and Angelica Abby. Unlike the big conglomerate sites, the model section doesn’t read as an industry Who’s Who, but you’ll find plenty of porno A-listers including AVN Award winners like Riley Reid, Veronica Rodriguez and DP Star winner Aria Alexander — just to name a few. You’ll also find the adorable Jillian Janson being outrageously hardcore — think “D.P.â€
To date, the highest rated fan-favorite scene is “The Perfect Threesome (or Pussy Galore!),†an interracial threesome featuring Aubrey Star and Alex Grey. But there’s a lot more to choose from. For example “Bangin’ Bree†is a shining example of Bree Daniels’ rare but stupendous boy-girl scenes. And then there’s Jenna J. Ross alongside Aubrey Star in the bondage themed “My Submissive Little Pet.†Watch Aubrey after the pop-shot, that’s all I’m going to say.
There’s good content here, but good content takes time to produce, and that’s the only real problem with Colette.com. Updates are infrequent compared to the megasites. In the month of October, Colette put out six updates, three of which were videos. On average, they publish one film and photo gallery per week. That’s actually pretty good when you consider how lovingly these sexy movies are filmed and edited. And that number is on par with competitor Greg Lansky’s Vixen, Tushy and Blacked projects.
If you demand brand new porno every time you log on, you’re going to have to wait. But Colette.com’s been around for a while and they’ve put together an impressive portfolio of work. To date, Colette.com features a collection of 134 videos. Most of the content falls squarely under the hardcore genre of the b/g, b/b/g or b/g/g variety. You’ll also find plenty of the more lusty and playful lesbian scenes that are reminiscent of Bree Mills’ work at GirlsWay.
Despite living in the year 2016, most porn from small studios sounds terrible, a problem that can be traced to shoddy production. I’m talking about background noises, people talking, echoes and tinny sound. Not so with Colette. She keeps a quiet set, shoots with good microphones and just might be running some compression or post-production. As an audiophile with some outside production experience, I can hear the difference.
If you don a nice set of headphones and listen to “Girls Gotta Play†for example, you will be greeted by a symphony of delight. All the licking and sucking sounds are ever-present, but subdued. Crank up the volume and then there’s Cherry Kiss’ breath keeping pace like a drum major. And all that is punctuated by waves of enticing moans. This doesn’t ring true for all scenes, but the majority sound great.
Fans of ass-play will find at least 25 scenes featuring a rear entrance. And if you’ve got a really dirty mind, rest assured that Colette has put together a few scenes that will even make this reviewer blush. That includes Leah Gotti’s first interracial gang bang and a downright athletic performance in “Five Way Fucking of Tiffany Doll.â€
You’ll also find a few behind-the-scenes clips and interviews with filmmakers Colette and Franziska. What’s cool is the format of these clips – set as a film review with the directors and sometimes talent. It’s a fun break from straight-up porn and provides great insight into the scene and industry alike. They also post the occasional post-scene interview.
Colette.com presents an elegant aesthetic and minimalist user experience. The site stays out of the way allowing you to focus on content. Navigation tabs up top direct users to their favorites films or models. Down below, big pictures and descriptions make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
But a few features are lacking, namely the search bar. The only way to find a specific update or model is to actively browse for it. That’s time consuming and frankly inconvenient. It’s a strange omission when you consider X-Art has a search bar. This feels like an oversight that will hopefully be fixed soon.
Porn fans are nothing if not picky about their content. Unfortunately, Colette.com doesn’t offer content-sorting by tags. So if you want to sort updates by such minutiae as hair color or to view creampie’s only, you’re out of luck. But Alex Grey’s “Fearsome Foursome†should get you on the right track for the latter.
If you’re looking for something glamcore and arty, this might not be the site for you. Instead, Colette.com offers amazing hardcore porn. I cannot overemphasize how consistently great Colette’s films have been. She’s brought the same care and production that made X-Art so famous into the hardcore realm, and it works. Although it might take some work to find that specific scene, rest assured that even a misclick will land you on something worth watching.
