Paulo Banana, acclaimed Brazilian director, has just agreed to an
exclusive directing pact with Elegant Angel owner Patrick Collins.
Paulo, who has always aspired to work for Elegant Angel, was given
his chance last week as Collins agreed to have him take over his
Sugarwalls and Cumback Pussy lines.
Paulo was referred by Collins’ South American partner, Stanlay
Miranda, after telling Miranda that he had always wanted to work for
Collins. Miranda made the introduction, and Collins, after seeing
just one scene that Paulo shot, brought him into his stable of young,
talented directors.
Paulo Banana started out his career in the mainstream world in 1995
in South America working on television shows and commercials. He also
studied audio engineering, and wasn’t quite sure what to do with it
until he was introduced to the Adult filmmaking world in 1999. That
experience changed his life, and from then on has pursued his dream
of directing adult films for a major adult production company. After
directing for several companies in Brazil, Banana decided to make the
move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream.
Besides directing the two new series, Paulo will be given his own
series called “BanANAL”, and will be editing as well as directing. In
reference to the new director/editor policy of the company, Paulo is
thrilled to have so much control in his filmmaking…”I’m very
excited to be doing both directing and editing. I like it because it
gives me total control over my vision. No one else has ever offered
this much creative freedom to me.” said Banana of Collins.
Collins is equally thrilled to have another young, hot director added
to his list of already established directing talent that includes
Toni Ribas, Mason, and Axel Braun. “Paulo Banana is just who I was
looking for to take over these series. He has a fresh, innovative
eye, and is a true pervert. He walked through my door and after
watching one scene that he directed, I knew that I found what I
wanted. I like to take chances on new talent, and I hold Stanlay
(Miranda)’s opinion in high regard. I felt that I couldn’t go wrong
with Paulo”.
Having already directed one scene starring Belladonna and Calli Cox,
Banana is ready for more. “I am ready to take on the challenge of
shooting one of the greatest lines ever, “Cumback Pussy”. I came here
to shoot gonzo, which is my first love. But if given the opportunity,
I would like to shoot a feature someday. I find it more challenging,
because you need to follow a structure and find talent who can really
act.”
Paulo added, “I walked into Elegant Angel thinking Patrick did not
need another director, so for right now, I am very happy to finally
be in a place that I’ve been dreaming about for years.”
