Site Set to Premiere Classic K-Beech Lines
Philadelphia, PA ” Internet pay-per-minute behemoth HotMovies.com announced today plans to premiere K-Beech’s classic Midnight adult line to an online audience beginning in the next few weeks. K-Beech is shipping groups of original masters cross-country to the HotMovies office in Philadelphia, where they will be transferred to a digital format for the first time ever.
K-Beech has earned a well-deserved reputation as a high quality producer and distributor of hardcore adult films going back to the 1980s and early 1990s, when much of the content being released as Midnight Classics was shot. The movies are pre-gonzo, a passel of classic vignettes featuring the biggest stars of the day. Names like HotMovies spokesperson Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Jeanna Fine, Ginger Lynn, Jerry Butler and Tom Byron crop up repeatedly.
But the movies sat around in a warehouse for years, missing the DVD revolution entirely and were threatening to be forgotten until K-Beech general manager Jeff Snyder fingered them as a way to make some extra money in a down year for physical distribution.
Snyder said he’d expressed a desire to unearth the classic line to a few different people, including HotMovies representatives. “They were all over it,” he said. “It’s really exciting to bring these movies into the light of day once again, so to speak. I’ll be interested to see how they sell as a gauge on whether to do a DVD release next.”
HotMovies has earned something of a reputation for helping to unearth, encode and release historically significant movies from many producers and associates with deep roots in the adult marketplace. Western Visuals, Antigua Pictures and Laurie Holmes, former wife to porn icon John Holmes, have previously released hard or impossible to find footage through the site.
HotMovies Director of business development James Cybert said he considers it an important mission of his company to keep these older titles in circulation.
“It’s been a first class experience working with K-Beech to reintroduce out of print classics from these outstanding lines,” he said. “On the site we’ll call it Midnight Classics so nobody overlooks their importance. Of course, I’m sure most dudes will be watching for the sex and rubbing one out. These are some very hot movies. But that doesn’t lessen the historical significance.”
