The following is an email from Will Ryder about Not the Cosbys XXX’s win as Best Feature in the 2009 RogReviews.com Critic’s Choice Awards. For the record, this reply beat the two press releases this week about the awards. (From Digital Playground about Robby and from Galaxy about Misty Stone.) Mike John replied on AdultDVDTalk.com leaving Angelina Armani and James Deen as the only ones not to comment publicly on the awards. (Private messages from both on Twitter though.)

Wow! Winning the RogReviews.com Critic’s Choice Award for Not the Cosbys XXX is truly an honor and we are thrilled that we beat out some really great movies this year. I am particularly happy that Misty Stone was also recognized with the Best Female Performer Award because many now realize what I learned when we made this movie that she deserves to be mentioned along with the greatest girls in the industry.
Without sounding boastful or appearing to be ‘full of it’, I really think that Not the Cosbys XXX is quite possibly bigger than just ‘porn movie status’ because it is the first interracial movie featuring a black cast as the centerpiece to win so many big industry awards including the 2010 AVN Best Parody prize and now this fine award from Rogreviews. I really would like to think that Bill Cosby might even be proud of our movie if he watched it because our goal was people of all colors to enjoy.
I want to thank Roger Pipe for believing in this movie from the first moment he watched it and recognizing that it was of special and unique value. It took real conviction on his part to step out and select a movie and anoint an actress that does not necessarily fit in with what normally wins awards in our industry. I want to thank our wonderful cast and our devoted crew that spent long hours crafting this movie so that it would be as good as it deserved to be and I would like to give a special thank you to our editor Mark DaWop and the team at Copper Digital who work countless hours with me in post production. I want to throw special appreciation to the best lighting director in the business Tim Studley and to my business partner Scott David for his tireless work getting every detail just right.
X-Play would not be able to continue to do business if it were not for our wonderful distribution family which includes Drew Rosenfeld, David Diamond, Jeff Thill, Rob Smith, Kristin Spiller, Carin Misterly, Brianne Ward and Lynn Newton and everybody else at LFP/Hustler Video. I have the best job in the world and when we receive critical acclaim like this to go hand-in-hand with the commercial success that this movie is enjoying it really makes for a wonderful life.
I would be remiss if I did not personally thank the entire award-winning cast of Misty Stone, Monica Foster, Melody Nakai, Nina Devon, Cassidy Clay, Jenny Hendrix, Sarah Vandella, Tori Black, Lana Violet, Jaelyn Fox, Tyler Knight, Tee Reel, Danny Mountain, Scott Lyons, Dick James, Jay Ashley and Thomas Ward as Cliff Huxtable for their magnificent work. Some critics are already saying that the sequel Not the Cosbys XXX 2 which just came out only a few weeks ago is even better but you will have to judge that for yourself but the entire family returns so that might be a reason.
I would also like to throw a note of appreciation first to Rogreviews.com and then to Nightmoves, AVN, Xcritic.com, CAVR, XBiz and to all of the XRCO voters who have the tough task of choosing the winner out of so many excellent productions. This is the year of Not the Cosbys XXX because interracial sex is finally getting rewarded and black is beautiful baby. If you liked The Cosby Show you will enjoy our award-winning series Not The Cosbys XXX.
