Pick A Candidate

Select Your Candidate
I was cruising around and found this page which I found quite useful. Of course I also found it to be a very flawed sort of thing. Worth talking, but let’s look a bit shall we. (Oh and for those of you who are bored by politics, feel free to just cruise on over and check out the new reviews and interviews.)
Question 1: Taxes- I noticed that if you choose the first item, cut taxes and spending, they give you this warning “even if this means shifting responsibility for providing services to state and local government, private industry, charitable groups and/or individuals.” That’s an important thing to consider if choosing this one. But when they let you choose increse spending and taxes, they don’t say ‘Even if it means paying more personally.’
Question 2- Note that they feel they have to explain that these are “Bush administration developed legislative proposals” Pretty much true, but they don’t do it for other issues.
Question 10- This is a big issue for me. My choice was clear, but I resent the option “Prevent and reduce drug use through education and counseling, but do not legalize drugs.” You can’t prevent it that way. Maybe you can reduce it. How about adding the word ‘try’ at the start of that one?
Question 11- They don’t say that this is an “Al Sharpton backed plan” as they did above. More importantly….WTF? No, no and bloody hell no.
Questions 11-15- Give us a little variety will you? I don’t back the NRA’s policies, but the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence offers no real solutions either. All I could do on all of these questions was pick the third, that I support alternative solutions. This little quiz doesn’t take into account the “Logical Moderate Party” platform which I have yet to complete.
I hope everyone takes the quiz and if you want to drop me a note to tell me how accurate it was (Tod, are you out there?) If any of you have any comments on the quiz, we can make that the topic for discussion this weekend.
Here are my results. Note- I voted right down the line, Libertarian and this is what they came up with.
