The Director’s Studio: The 2019 XRCO Nominations Celebrate WICKED’s Commitment to Excellence

LOS ANGELES, CA – – The X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) has revealed its 2019 award nominees, and global adult entertainment innovator Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce Brad Armstrong, Axel Braun, jessica drake, and their talented collaborators have received over a dozen major nominations in the areas of performance, direction, and production.

Blockbuster creator Brad Armstrong’s epic hit Fallen II: Angels & Demons was honored with a Best Release nomination, while Wicked Girl and sexual rights advocate jessica drake’s revelatory lead performance was heralded in the Best Actress category. A second Armstrong-directed production, the timely Editor’s Choice drama Camgirl, saw rising star Kristen Scott earning a Best Actress nomination. Fittingly, the uniformly high quality and diversity of Armstrong’s output throughout the year was rewarded with a Best Director (Features) nomination.

Parody king Axel Braun’s undisputed mastery of his chosen genre propelled his critical and commercial smash Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody to a trifecta of nominations – Best Director (Parody), Parody of the Year, and Best Actor – the latter for Seth Gamble’s uproarious interpretation of Wade Wilson, the “merc with a mouth.” The B&W Cinemascope thriller The Possession of Mrs. Hyde – the iconoclastic Braun’s first original drama in fifteen years – received a trio of high profile nominations, including Best Release and Best Director (Features), while Avi Love’s masterful work in the lead garnered Best Actress.

In other feature categories, veteran filmmaker Mike Quasar’s lighthearted erotic romp Making Ends Meet earned a Best Comedy nomination, while Ryan Mclane was recognized with a Best Actor nom for his inventive work in longtime Wicked collaborator Jonathan Morgan’s Cursed. Snatch Chat, a Wicked Reality title starring Ellie Knox and Skylar Snow, earned attention in the Best Gonzo Release category.

The winners will be announced in June at the XRCO’s annual industry-only gala.
