Blog: Stuff, Mostly Polanski
Roman, Oh Roman
OK, it’s been kind of a strange week around here, but so many things are on the table. The stolen content debate has heated up, Roman Polanski is on everyone’s mind, we lost the Olympic bid, play off baseball is just around the corner and everyone is releasing their award-caliber movies at once. Lots to talk about for sure.
Aurora Snow Skate Board: This weekend at Adult Con, Aurora Snow debuted her new Pornstar Skateboards model. I was hoping to stop by and get one for the office, but I’m just not feeling up to a drive to LA. You can read more about the board by reading the official press release here. The board look pretty good and now people can ride Aurora any time they want. As appealing as that sounds, I’m afraid I just might break my neck if I tried.
Eye Candy: Here is a recent gallery of Aurora. She takes on two big dicks on CuckoldSessioins.com
Go Fuck….: The theft of adult content has been a topic we have touched on before. It’s a huge problem and part of the reason for falling DVD sales and troubling economic situations for on line stores, producers and sites like mine. Recently, the debate got even hotter when a leading adult webmaster board allowed a Tubesite to skin their site. In response to this situation, my good friend Mike South let a movement to create a new site www.GoFuckGFY.com. I’ve visited the site a few times and it seems to be growing quickly. There is a lot going on over there and it’s not all webmaster business. So far so good Mike.
Eye Candy: Here’s a fun new site. Watch porn chicks like Keeani Lei as she makes some fan’s day on FuckAFan.com
Roman Polanski: I was pretty shocked when I heard that they have finally gathered up ole Roman to bring him back for trail. Then I read a really interesting post on LukeIsBack.com by a regular contributor there. The Colonel made a lot of really good points and seemed to mirror the sentiments of many. It was 30 years ago, the victim forgave him, the judge was going his best to cash in on 15 minutes of fame and the like. It was a really well done piece and kind of had me leaning towards the “damn this is a waste of time and money” camp. Since that time I’ve done some reading on the case because I honestly haven’t given much of a thought in the last two decades. After a few days of thinking about it I’ve come to the conclusion that I love the Colonel’s post and many of his points while still disagreeing with the overall premise. Time makes us forget and Roman is a great director so he has a lot of people in his corner. Over the years we have kind of let it go and seen it as something a little silly. That idea needs to change. This wasn’t a guy who just had a relationship with a teenage girl. She was 13 years old. She wasn’t someone he was ‘dating.’ She was a kid who he duped and then drugged before he raped her. That’s kind of key. Over the years it has become a “statutory rape” and somehow that has softened it. Yes, it was statutory because she was under age, but it was also just plain rape. No, I take that back. There was nothing plain about it. He drugged a kid and raped her. He knew exactly what he was doing, planned it really well and carried out the rape with the help of drugs. I am really proud of the victim for forgiving him, but that doesn’t take away the fact that Roman Polanski is a fucking child rapist. Why exactly are we supposed to forget that and let him live happily in France? Because he makes good movies? Because he was a victim of a celebrity hunting judge? That second point is a good one and may well be true. On the other hand, there was an extensive psyche evaluation done at the time. It was that document that the judge used to hand down a very harsh punishment after Mr. Polanski pled guilty. (No small matter that.) Was the judge out for fame? Maybe. Did that evaluation paint Polanski as a monster who would likely rape again? Probably. So in the end, Roman used drugs to rape a child, pled guilty and then fled from justice. It has taken far too long to bring him to justice, and it probably is a bad time to be pursuing this given the state’s serious economic crunch. Roman does seem to have led a good life since the rape, but nothing he has done can take away the crime. Had he stuck around and served his sentence he would have been out long ago. He made his choices and it’s probably time he pay for them. I respect those who disagree, but celebrity status aside, Roman Polanski is just another child rapist who needs to spend some time in jail for what he did. That’s just my opinion of course and I really enjoyed reading a different point of view.
OK that went on longer than I expected. That’s all for tonight. Going to have to cover the Olympics, baseball, award winning porn and all that tomorrow. Good news is I am too sick to do much other than sit in front of the TV, watch football and type away.
