Layla Jade, Flawless Host Hot British Adult Star and KSEXradio.com PJ Performs Magnificently at Awards Show
BURBANK, CA – The tables were covered in white? Wait a minute. Are we still talking about Sardos Bar? Actually…yes. The normal Tuesday night Porn Star Karaoke hole-in-the-wall was converted into a pseudo five star restaurant, complete with delicious sit down dinners and a fun, attentive staff. Although there was a slight delay in getting served, all who attended concurred that the taste of the grub was worth waiting for.
Following dinner, KSEX tech crew member “Dahmer” began the show by singing a version of the Star Spangled Banner that would make Rosanne proud. Then, powerful production music filled the room with a strong announcer’s voice introducing Layla Jade. Jade took the stage with confidence, spoke clearly, loudly and with perfect diction. She was humorous, precise and a perfect choice to host the event. “There are not enough good things to say about Layla,” program director and show host Wankus said. “With all the stress of putting on a show, Layla made it so easy by her super professional performance.”
Wankus was the first member of the KSEX team to be introduced. After a brief moment of silence out of respect for the passing of KSEX host, Keri Windsor’s father who recently periled after heart complications, Wankus took a moment to explain how the award show was going to play out and to thank all thirty four Porn Jockeys [PJs] for their continued contributions. Moments later, the crowd was cheering, laughing and participating in Wankus’ Party Favorite audience participation game, “The Fairy Tale.” Catalina, Johnny Buss of the LA Sparks and LA Jay from YNOTmasters.com were pulled from the crowd to be characters in the live mini-stage show. The skit was hysterical and moments later the crowd was fired up and ready for the awards presentation.
Layla introduced the guest presenters before each award was presented. Presenters included KSEXers Harry Weiss, Sierra, DJ and Nikka Foothill, Chef Jeff, Felicia Fox & Tim Case, Jason Sechrest, Flexx and General Manager, Chris Rick. The list of winner include:

Two awards that were not voted on were added to the presentation. Due to her incredible squirting abilities, Cytherea was given an award from management called “The KSEX Squirt Queen.” Chris Rick also presented the Mike Rick Memorial Award, a yearly presentation honoring the KSEX founder who died from a tragic hiking accident last year. The award is presented to someone staff or no, that has contributed immensely to the adult industry as well as to KSEXradio in some fashion. The award went to AdultFYI.com’s Gene Ross. Ross has covered KSEXradio shows with detailed show re-caps and reporting so much, that there’s a common misconception that Ross works for the company. “KSEX is doing more on daily basis to promote this business than any single entity and it certainly deserves the uncompromising support of the adult industry,” Ross said as he received his award.
There was also a write-in category where the fans voted for a porn star that they would like to see host a show on KSEX. More then 45% of the fans polled wrote in the name Carmen Luvana. Jade announced that KSEX has already contacted the Adam and Eve contract star and Luvana WILL in fact host a show on the station soon.
Classic moment of the night: Gauge won the award for the fans favorite KSEXradio host giving hummers on film. She accepted the award, thanked the fans and the audience then sat down happy to have won. At the end of the show, Gauge asked Wankus, “What’s a Hummer?”
It was a fun evening for the sold out crowd of industry folks and PJs. Voting for the 2004 Listeners’ Choice Awards will begin earlier next year. Probably six months before the next awards show.
