So this story has nothing to do with porn, but what the hell. I got back from the Angels/Yankees playoff game and I have no voice left.

I honestly think that may have been the most exciting baseball game I have ever seen. First of all, it was the largest crowd in Edison Field history and unlike regular season games, this time the crowd was 95% Angel fans. It was an incredibly loud crowd as well, at least before the game started.

Once the game started and the Yankees knocked Ramon Ortiz out of the game in the third inning with six early runs, things got really quiet. This Angel team has made so many comebacks that nothing is impossible. Well, nothing beyond coming back on the Yanks after being down 6-1 in a pivitol post season game.

Slowly the Angels chipped away at the lead. A 2 run double by Salmon to make it 6-3, a homer by Kennedy to make it 6-4, a sac fly to make it 6-5. By the time Spezio hit a soft line drive to center to tie the game, the whole place was rocking.

The Angels had a 20 year old rookie on the mound for the 7th and 8th and he blew the Yanks down like they hadn’t a clue what to do. Nothing like a raw rookie striking out 4 in two innings during a comeback to get people pumped.

In the bottom of the 8th, tied at 6, an Erstad double put the Angels on top and I thought the whole place was going to come falling down around me. The Yanks brought in a new pitcher and his first offering was smashed over the fence by Salmon for a 2 run homer and a 9-6 lead.

All that was left was the Percival 9th and he was up to the task tonight.

With the Angels now up 2-1 in the best of five, I’ve got tickets for tomorrow’s game as well. With a win, the Angels wrap up the series. If they lose, it’s back to NYC for a deciding game five.

No matter what happens tomorrow or for the rest of the playoffs, I know that I have seen the greatest game of my life. And I don’t even care if I can’t speak for days.
