With less than a year under his belt as a director, Jonni Darkko has quickly made a name for himself as one of the top gonzo directors and cameramen working today. According to John Stagliano, owner of Evil Angel, and the alleged originator of Gonzo, “Darkko combines exceptional technical skill with a good sense for how to get the best performances out of people.”
As a New Sensations/Digital Sin director, the trained photographer chiseled himself away from the pack with such popular lines as Anal Trainer and Girl Crazy, both of which showcased Darkko’s undying love for backdoor sex.
With a stable of directors that include Joey Silvera, John Leslie, Rocco Siffredi and Jules Jordan, Mr. Stagliano has an eye for picking the elite. His latest move was to wrangle up Darkko. On the advice of Jules Jordan, another ass aficionado, Mr. Stagliano checked out Darkko’s stuff and came away totally impressed. “Darkko is maybe the best cameraman I’ve ever seen in porn. He really understands how to use natural light, composition, pacing, and the best camera angles to capture great sex.”
Says Darkko, “Scott Taylor and New Sensations were the ones who gave me the chance to do this. They believed in me 100%, and let me do what I felt. I owe them a lot. But the opportunity to work for the best company in the world, Evil Angel, is a dream come true for me. Shit, this is Buttman we’re talking about here. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today!”
As with the rest of the directors who distribute through Evil Angel, Darkko will retain ownership of his product.
Jonni Darkko’s first monthly series for Evil Angel launches in April or May, starting production in March.
