Well this should be interesting. The first Platinum X release is “I Love it Rough” and is directed by Brandon Iron. I’ve met Brandon on several occasions, have interviewed him and exchanged dozens of emails with the guy. I genuinely like him and think he’s one hell of a performer. That said he and I don’t always see eye to eye when it comes to on screen sexual violence and what some would call misogyny. That isn’t to say that I consider Brandon to be a violent person or that rough sex is not a valid form of sexual expression. If everyone is in agreement, then I think that people can spank, slap, choke, spit and do whatever float the old boat. It’s just not something that appeals to me personally so watching it has minimal sexual draw at best. So I know from the start that this is not a movie that I’m likely to like to enjoy the action no matter how well shot it is. I’ll go forth accordingly, but let’s be clear that just because I don’t like a certain type of sex act, I still recognize that many do. I also understand that everyone in this flick has agreed to do this kind of sex. There, I think I covered all the bases. (That said, Brandon invites plenty of shit with an opening “Fuck you” to anyone who doesn’t like this movie.) Sadly I can’t take Brandon’s advice and just skip this one. I have a job to do and will watch it. To paraphrase my good friend Brandon, if you don’t like what I’m about to write, stop reading and “fuck you” too. (Keep in mind, I say this with the same spirit of good natured fun that Brandon used in his taped greeting, tongue in cheek yo.)
Ashly More is up first and she does a short interview with Brandon about the kind of rough sex she likes. They cover all the bases, making sure that anyone watching will understand that they are involved in extreme sex play. Ashly does hot scenes, but she’s average looking at best. She has Steve Holmes behind the camera and berates him for several minutes. He is finally allowed to worship her ass. I’m curious to see what RS fans think of seeing things flipped like this. Did Brandon cross the fetish line for most of his audience or are people just happy to see this sort of action no matter who is in charge. Everyone is on the same page and no one is doing anything they don’t want to do. That said, I can dislike it for all kinds of reasons, and I do. First of all, the cast of four has only one chick I find at all attractive. Jewel’s scene is the best of the lot. Since the other girls don’t do anything for me, then it wouldn’t really matter what kind of sex was in this movie. The sex is rougher I guess, but it’s hardly the kind of stuff that is going to make too many people upset. Julie and Ashly are really good at this type of scene, so if you’re an RS fan they deliver. I liked the discussion of the rough sex issue and I agree with most of it. I just don’t necessarily like watching girls get choked, slapped, spit on and the like. These girls love it rough and this movie isn’t for anyone who doesn’t. It really is just that simple.
