Not to be confused with the Alicia Silverstone Lolita-ish thriller, this latest effort from Digital Sin stars Celeste Star as a young model, new to LA and on the rise. I’m not sure how much story there is going to be because it looks more like a Ninn project instead of big scripted feature. In fact, I am already worried that this movie is going to have even less erotica appeal than Silverstone’s flick. Worst of all, it could be about as erotica as hearing that little nitwit speak.
Those of us hoping to avoid a washed-put look and pretentious style are already out of luck. It takes on a few minutes to realize what kind of project this is going to be. There is a long lead in montage of over exposed shots, bright backgrounds and quick-as-a-wink looks at pretty girls. By the time the first girl/girl scene actually kicks in I am already sick of the stark white stairs. If that doesn’t drive you crazy then the music certainly will. They could use this stuff at Gitmo to torture prisoners. Just strap them down, shine a light in their eyes and pipe this through headphones and it will be over. If anyone can bear the music and the blinding background, there is a very mediocre lesbian scene going on. Didn’t we see this from Andrew Blake in 1989?
We go from worse to weird in the next scene. It’s a nightmare scene with more cuts than the final day of the NFL pre-season and a bunch of guys in masks. (Didn’t we see that from Greg Dark in 1985?) Look I can appreciate nice editing and creative lighting as much as the next guy, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. In fact there is such a thing as way too fucking much of a semi-good thing. Daily plays with her pussy and then opens her mouth to let Marco ram his cock in there. Somehow her little gags can be overheard above the computer peeping that is supposed to be the soundtrack. (I can’t decide which is worse.) Through all this mess there is decent heat this time. I like the lighting actually. It’s really well done and without the overbearing music and hyper-cutting there would be something decent this time around. By the time he shoots his load in her mouth I am left wondering if there might be a chance for this movie yet.
Nope. We go from that to another excruciatingly long segment on the yet another staircase. Eventually Otto shoves his dick into his chick’s mouth. (Didn’t we this from Michael Ninn last year?) With quagging that is loud enough to be heard over the music and Otto sounding an awful lot like Nick Manning, this scene is about as wood killing as Star Jones and Rosie O’Donnell compare stretch marks. Much of that goes away when the fucking starts, but in its place we get huge sweeping camera movements and a general sense that the only thing about this scene that doesn’t matter is the sex. He cums in her mouth and sends up hurtling towards the next sexual brick wall.
Tiffany Rayne makes the next bit of art school slop bearable. She’s such a sexy girl that she provides the eye candy required to keep things interesting even when they are not. Of course teaming Otto with one of the industry’s biggest quaggers is a recipe for disaster. As much as I want to hate this scene, it’s not a total waste. Tiffany’s eye contact, brief as it is, is still the stuff great porn is made off. Too bad it gets buried is quick cuts, odd angles and the overall feel of this project. I know that this is not a movie aimed at raincoaters, but why isn’t a hot girl fucking enough?
We follow that up with a Miami Vice tribute scene. I sear I kept waiting to hear Phil Collins singing in the background as they blue light us nearly to death. After all that build up we get another chilly scene that is so lifeless I found myself looking at the reflections cast on the wall by the pool and thinking “Hey, that does look king of cool.” (In case some of you missed that, it isn’t a good thing for us to be focusing on the background instead of the sex.) Other than a few brief flashes of what could be seen as good eye candy, the best thing about this scene is that it brings us to the end of the movie.
What’s the point of a long wrap up. This movie is tedious. It’s artistic in its own way and I guess we can applaud the effort. The problem is that it doesn’t bring much to the table. When it tries to tell a story it fails because there isn’t any meat or follow through. When it tries to be eye candy we end up having to listen to a pointless quag fest. When it tries to be a hard sex movie it just looks silly. This certainly isn’t my favorite kind of porn, but it can be done well. This is just an example of how bad it can be when it’s fumbled. It’s slick, it’s occasionally pretty and it’s about as pretentious as can be. I’d compare it to alt-porn, but I didn’t see any clear gay appeal and the project isn’t supposed to look ugly. See, I found something good to say about it. Bad as it is, it doesn’t suck ass as much as alt-porn.
