REVIEW-

This is something truly different. Not only is this a movie from a company most of us don’t know about, but it is also a serious feature with more than a nod to mainstream appeal. I need to warn everyone up front that this is NOT your typical adult film. It has the feel of a mainstream movie and the sex scenes are not is remotely close to what we see in gonzo projects or even most adult features. In fact some of the sex scenes look like they could almost be from a Cinemax flick. If you’re OK with this aspect of Black Worm then please continue. If you do make it past the sex, you’re in for a treat. I was tempted at times during this review to say that this movie might be 2007’s “Corruption.” I can’t go that far and you’ll see why in a bit. I can say that this is one of the most filmatic adult projects I have seen in years. It’s impressive enough to watch and actually worth sitting through until the very end.

Carla (Lorena Sanchez) is given to Van for the night as a gift. She treats him like a King, starting with a nicely shot pole dance that is sure to get everyone’s blood flowing. The cut to the sex is a little abrupt and the sex itself has a softer look to it. It builds a bit into some very hot doggy. Lorena is really beautiful, but the scene cuts between the best action so far and the assignation of a rival drug lord. It’s nicely don’t, but not exactly conducive to jerking off.

The next scene is really interesting. We watch some more bangers cutting coke and making small talk. In the background there is a chick going crazy as she gets fucked. She’s a “cock-a-holic” who is given to one of the bangers. When he gives her some coke she starts taking it off his dick. Now the background is hard pounding music. I don’t know why, but I just found this really clever. The sex itself is decent though not nearly as hot as it could be. It is enthusiastic, but most of the shots are cable version soft core with no actual penetration in the mix.

Lorena has a bathtub fantasy that shows off her body nicely, but doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the movie. This has been a gritty movie to this point and the fantasy sequence is colorful and definitely unlike what we have seen so far. Maybe that’s part of the plan.

To say that the plot has overtaken the sex by this point would be an understatement. I’m tempted to say that I don’t even mind that fact. The script is very tight and I found myself listening to every twist. It is still a porn flick of course so naturally the dude with the briefcase is going to end up distracted by a hot chick riding his cock while he loses millions. This time around we get a slightly harder sex scene that features some very hot looking doggy action. If you watch very carefully there are even some close p shots of her pretty pussy being pounded. From a pure stroke value standpoint, this is easily the best scene in the movie.

When the plan goes south, Lorena gets into a boat load of trouble. She finds herself abandoned by her man and trapped between one back stabbing thug and another. Eventually she finds herself in bed with Alektra Blue. Both of them are involved a violent world but how their tender side in this shadowy, soft lesbian scene. At this point any sexual heat in the movie is a good thing so watching Lorena get munched certainly livens things up south of the belt.

Black Worm is an incredibly well made movie with a great script and a mainstream sensibility. On that level I doubt we will see anything like it this year. It is a tightly wound script that could easily show up on late night cable. I made the comparison earlier to “Corruption” but that isn’t totally fair. That movie had a dark sexuality that flowed into the sex scenes and drove the story. Black Worm does not. The story is violent, dark and bleak. For the most part, the sex is soft, pretty and are often more random than requisite for plot advancement. Lorena Sanchez is gorgeous, does a very nice job with her dialog and carries the sex scenes. Would I like the movie better if the sex scenes were harder and more in tune with the plot? Hell yeah I would. Who wouldn’t? Actually with the sex scenes the way they are this movie should do well with the feature market. It could easily be cut down to a kick ass softcore flick. I still think this is one of the most impressive adult movies I have seen in 2007. I just need a little more sexual heat in my porn. We know that these guys can make a great movie. Now we just need to see if they can bring the same intensity and skill to the sex that they brought to the rest of this feature.
