I interviewed Zoe a while back when she was still in the porn biz. A few months
ago, she talked to me about doing an update now that she has left the biz.
Since our schedules didn’t always match up, it took us a while, but I finally
tracked her down in the Porn-star Trading IRC chat room and we were able to do
a live text chat. This is my first such interview and I hope you will find it
sufficient. Not as good as live perhaps, but I think it’s better than straight
email interviews. As always, let me know what you think.

How long have you been out of the porn biz?

Since February of 2001.

What are you doing now? Dancing?

I am currently finishing my dance contracts. This will be my last year of
dancing. I am concentrating on my web site and I own part of a computer
company now.

And then will you be done with adult for good?

I will be done for good except my site unless that doesn’t do well then I will
take it down. I also am a main character in a mainstream video game coming out
in 2004.

Congratulations! I guess what people are wondering is why you left the biz.

I left for many reasons. One, I can’t do it all my life. Two, I was tired of the
political bullshit. Three, there are too many skanks coming in the biz doing
everything for practically no money. And four, I fell in love with a wonderful
man and I thought it disrespectful to him

What political bullshit?

The way companies pull you down and manipulate you to do what they want you
to.

For example?

Like tell you that you’re fat and no good. That you have to do anal or
gangbangs and all that shit to be a star.

Did you run into those problems with Sin City?

Not as bad as with other companies, but they did at one point have a problem
with my weight. Since I had a real woman’s body with curves and wouldn’t do
anal and asked for a raise they didn’t like it

Did they comment publicly on your weight while you were under contract? Or was
it in private?

No they didn’t do it in public, it was all in private and they denied it. Michael
Raven and the whole crew there was great.

If I may, how much did you weigh when they complained?

You weren’t a tiny girl when they signed you. I didn’t notice considerable
gain while you were with Sin City.

At 5’8″ I went between 125-145 I was 145 for a couple months I was not happy at
the time and was weight training six days a week. I’ll send you a pic of when
they said I was fat.

The no anal thing, that’s been your policy from day one, right?

Well I did do a few for John T Bone because he said I had to. I had never done
it before. So, I tried it hated it.  It hurt like hell, I cried and bled. One
of the reasons I left him was not to do anal and other nasty stuff.

(Rog has now seen the downloaded picture.) That’s FAT? Ha.

Yep that was me at my heaviest.

That’s not fat…no way.

People in the industry think if you aren’t anorexic, then you’re fat. Most of
those girls are the size of my leg. Ha, Ha.

So Sin City knew that you didn’t want to do anal and still tried to push you into
doing it?

I told them I would try one time and I tried, but couldn’t get through it.

It sounds like you tried, but you can only do what you can do.

It was never part of the contract that I had to do anal. I think they took for
granted that since I did it before and came from John T Bone that I would.
Somehow, I don’t think crying and bleeding are sexy. The fans know and can
tell. I don’t think the big guys in the industry give the consumer enough
credit.

Well, some people might think that seeing Jasmin bleeding and crying is sexy, but that’s just wrong :-)

OK, so they said you were fat and wanted anal…was that the final straw?

My contracted ended and they wanted to renew. Now I am no dummy and I know in
business when resigning a contract you never sign it for the same amount, so I
asked for a raise.

Wait, you were fat, didn’t do A and they offered you a renewal anyway??

Yes they did. Funny huh?

Sounds a little fishy to me.

Yeah I know. They said yes at first then all of the sudden took it back. I got
a lot fatter to them once the money went up

It was that extra zero in the contract; it went straight to your thighs.
So they wanted you back, just not at a higher rate. Sounds like you gained weight and
attitude as soon as your price went up. Who said all of this and were there
other issues as well?

I don’t really want to name names, but I will tell you one thing.  Someone from
the company who is married used to call me late at night when his wife was
away on trips, but I won’t say who.

Fair enough….

They even wanted to get me an apartment closer to the valley.

Do you think things like that are common in the business?

Talent are ripped off everyday in the business, be it the video companies,
magazines, internet people, you name it.

Did you have bad experiences with Bone?

Other than him making me do anal he was always honest and told me what he
wanted. I told him no and it was done he never argued with me.

Did you do a lot of anal for Bone?

I did ten movies with him and only half if not less are anal.

Did you get late night calls there as well?

Nope, not once did he ever make advances towards me. I think he was scared of
me. I wasn’t his type; I tend to be independent and opinionated

Ha, I don’t blame him; you scared the shit out of me for a year.

Why did you leave there?

It was time to move on. He wanted to go back to making really nasty movies and I
wanted to step up. We could do no more for each other. I do one to say that
Sin City does put out great movies.

They did a much better job of making you look good on boxes and in movies than Bone did.

Yeah, they were much higher budget.

Were you with Bone when Jasmin was?

Yep

Any comments on her?

She had her ups and downs.

Would you consider her a friend?

One minute we got along another we hated each other. I would say that she was
an associate more than a friend.

Fair enough. What about Kendra Jade?

She is a friend, though we also had our problems.

Do you think it’s hard for women in the biz to be friends?

Yes definitely.

How come?

They play the girls against each other so that everyone is trying to back
stab, out do, and under cut each other. The companies are the one that win.
They get an anal gang bang for $2000. Think of all the money these companies
are making and then look at what they want to pay the talent.

Did you have implants when you entered the biz?

Nope I got them two months after I signed my first contract and after my first
feature dance gig. I always wanted them but couldn’t afford it until I started
featuring. That is the reason I got in the biz anyway.

Was there pressure from anyone in porn, or the dancing circuit for you to get
them?

Nope no pressure.

None at all?

My first dance agent wanted them bigger. He wanted me to be one of those big
titted features, but I was like no way, I’ll get them to fit my body.

Not from porn people? Some people say that all girls in porn are pressured into them.

Nope I wasn’t, but I got them so soon who knows what would have happened if I
didn’t get them?

Do you have any major changes you want to see made in porn?

I think they should raise the legal age to be in porn and dancing to 21.

Really? Why?

That way these people have a few years of the real world to get a regular job
and think about it before doing it. You get sucked into the money. That is why
these girls retire then go back. Let’s take me for instance. I have danced for
ten years porn for three, but I can’t put that on my resume so where do I
work? Some get lucky like me and open my own business, but others aren’t so
lucky.

Fair enough. So you parted ways with Bone, amicably it seems, and were you
looking for a new contract?

Yes I was.

Were there a lot of offers that you turned down before Sin City?

Actually sin city contacted me before my contract with bone was up. You see I
met Michael Raven before I got in the biz in Philadelphia. I have known him
for awhile.

Was Michael part of the reason you took the job at Sin City?

Yes, he was and it was a good contract.

So whatever problems you had there, didn’t come because of him?

Not at all, he was great and anyone who gets to work with him is lucky

How many movies did you do for Sin City?

Seven.

I just got one the other day, have they all come out?

Yes, they are all out.

What was the best?

Captive was my favorite. I haven’t seen the news ones yet. I just got Hotel
Tales but haven’t watched it.

I don’t think I saw that one. I saw Lap dance or something like that.

Skin Dance. It was ok.

Yeah, that one. Not bad.

Underworld was much better.

Have you ever done any escorting or worked in a brothel?

Nope, no way. I’ve been asked tons of times.

Do you see that as different than performing on film?

Yes I see the difference even though it may be a thin line, there is still a
difference.

So for the record, Zoe has not escorted and will not escort?

Exactly. Everyone has there price, some are just higher.

So if you have seen indecent proposal…ha, ha.

So if I had a million bucks, I might stand a chance?

Hehe, you might.

You also mentioned a special guy in your life. Do you want to talk about him?

We can talk about him a bit.

How did you meet him?

A mutual friend introduced us in LA

Was he in the biz?

Nope.

And you said you felt it was better for your relationship to be out of porn?

I think it is a respect thing. He supported me in whatever decision I made. I
wanted to retire regardless.

That’s a pretty special guy.

Yes very special I am very much in love.

Yes, I did.

Do you want to vent?

They still owe me money and pictures. The company is

heard other girls complain about them. They agreed to send me the money and
cds of my pictures but haven’t.

How come?

They said they sent them but they didn’t. They said they would resend, but they haven’t. Its been months.

Sounds like its time they kept their word.

Yeah I wish they would. I thought they were my friends, but I don’t know how
to make them besides court and letting everyone know how they do business.

Perhaps they will consider this an official request to send you what they owe
you.

Nope I chalk it up to a learning experience. I am a stronger person for
everything I do in my life.
