In case anyone missed it, the case against Rob Black and Extreme Associates was tossed out of court last week. For the full story you can check out AVN Extreme Story
I have been reading everyone else write about this issue for a few days and haven’t had much to say. I have mixed feelings about it to be honest.
I’m happy for Rob and Lizzy and think that this could be a great thing. On the other hand, I find is amusing that the “sky is falling” crowd who actually ooze enough childish bile to call last Thursday a black day (Sorry dude, get over it.) would also break their necks climbing on the “we have been saved at the last minute” band-wagon.
I would love to see and end to all of this, but by stopping it short of completion, what has really been won? I said from the start that this case could be a good thing in the long run. If the Feds had failed to convict Rob or even if they did and got a solid line drawn in the sand, then something would be concrete. As it stands now, nothing has been decided.
So it’s good news, but I wonder why everyone is falling all over themselves with glee. (Other than Rob and Lizzy of course who should be quite happy.) In the short term, this is good news. In the long run it may put us back to square one or worse…in the crosshairs of a worse situation.
Don’t forget, CAL OSHA slapped TT Boy with some serious fines and outlined “safe workplace” guidelines that included condoms for ALL sex acts. Could anyone watch some of the puking scenes Extreme is doing and argue that they are not “unsafe” as outlined by OSHA? What about the constant ass to mouth?
I think that this decision may very well have opened up a whole new can of worms, but for now, everyone can enjoy the parade.
