Voting Voting

As most of you know, the 2005 RRFF voting is now underway. There are a number of changes this year. Round one will look pretty much the same with a few acceptations. The Best Female and Most Wanted Celebrity fields have been expanded to 100 names. (Up from 64 in past years.) The other fields dropped from 64 to 60 names. Each field consists of 10 fields. The top three finishers in each bracket will advance to the second round. (Of 30) From there we go to a top ten and finally a battle between the top four.

There aren’t a lot of big shocks yet. Most of the Best Company brackets are dominated by the big boys. Evil Angel, Anabolic, Wicked, Red Light District and Elegant Angel are polling very well. This one will get much more interesting as we move into the next round.

I’m a little surprised to see Brandy Taylore polling so poorly in the Best Newbie category. How can a girl this hot be running sixth even in a strong bracket? Everything else is going along as planned with most of the strong rookies doing really well.

Best Director may have a few too many names on the list. There are a few people who have received no votes at all while other directors are running away with the early round. I’m a little surprised to see Justin Slayer running a close second to Mike John in their bracket. People seem to be overlooking Lex. On the other hand Aurora Snow is getting some good recognition and that’s a good thing.

I think that the Best Male Performer category might get cut down next year. Most of the early rounds are dominated by one or two names. The usual names, Rocco, Lex, Brandon, Stefano and those guys are all doing very well. Like the director fights, this one will heat up with some of the big names facing off in the same brackets.

Best Female is the big one. Poor Kaylani Lei gets no respect from the voters. She’s running in a tough bracket with Ariana, Audrey and last year’s winner, Monica Sweetheart. Still, she deserves better than a sub 5% total. Ditto Nautica Thorn, but apparently I’m the only one who digs her enough to want to vote for her. Jasmine Byrne is dominating her Best Newbie category but it going to have to struggle to make it to round two thanks to her very competitive bracket. (Five girls at over 13%) This should be an interesting field of 30 and we may revisit the idea of keeping Newbie and Performer separate next year.

Our Most Wanted Celebrity voting had some troubles so I’m going to have to pull some names into the second round. One of these days we’re actually going to get word to some of these women that they are in the top ten. Until then it’s still just a dream vote.

Thanks everyone for voting and please feel free to write in with your thoughts, suggestions and bold predictions for the next round.
