Adult DVD Talk Party and Rog Reviews Critic’s Choice Awards

One of the net’s leading forums, www.adultdvdtalk.com held their first ever Las Vegas get together and it was quite a success. The site brings fans of adult DVDs together with industry representatives in a way that allows for better communication and consumer feedback. The party brought these two groups together in much the same way. ADT rented a suite at the Rivera Hotel and invited site regulars, industry insiders, performers and critics to mingle, drink and finally meet one another.
Several companies were represented, including Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Anabolic, Pandora, Shane’s World, VCA, DVSX, Diabolic, Las Vegas Novelties and Wicked. Performers Kimi Lixx, Julie Knight, Erik Everhard, Jacklyn Lick, Bisexual Britni, Cris, Tricia Devereaux and Calli Cox were joined by directors Jules Jordan, Mike John John Stagliano, Mason, Constance Le, Alex Ladd and William H. A number of the ADT critics also discussed porn with the King of internet reviewers, Den of www.cavr.com , Jeff Vanzetti and Peter Van Aarle from www.iafd.com.  There were a number of spirited discussions on various issues and everyone seemed to come away happy to have had the opportunity to have met.
I am fortunate enough to know the people from AdultDVDTalk and they were kind enough to allow me to announce the second annual Rog Reviews Critic’s Choice Awards at their party. Adult stars Bisexual Britni, Jacklyn Lick, Tricia Devereaux, Kimi Lixx and director Constance Le were the awards presenters, providing the small audience much more eye candy that I ever could.
Britni, who captured the Rog Reviews Fan Faves award as Best Female Performer read the list of nominees for in same category for the Critic’s Choice Awards. The tightly contested race between Belladonna, Jenna Haze, Layla Jade, Katie Morgan, Aurora Snow and Monica Sweetheart was won by Aurora. (She would win the award as top female from AVN the next night.) Since Ms. Snow was not on hand to accept her award, Steve Lane from LVNI (Aurora’s new toy company) accepted on her behalf.
Tricia read the list of nominees for the next two awards. First came Best Male Performer which was won by Erik Everhard. Two of the nominees for Best Director were on hand and Tricia got to present the award to her husband, John Stagliano who beat out fellow Evil Angel director Jules Jordan who captured the award last year.
Kimi Lixx was last year’s Fan Fave as Best Newbie and announced that Avy Scott had captured the Critic’s Choice honor for 2003. Avy was not on hand, but did accept the award on the floor the next day.
Evil Angel continued the big night when Stagliano’s �Fashionistas” won the award for Best Feature. Extreme Associates took home the award for Best All Sex movie as Tom Byron’s Whack Attack 14 beat out a very strong field. Jordan got to accept an award for Best DVD for his �Ass Worship 2″ disc.
The final award of the night was for Worst Movie of the Year, and Britni provided everyone with a few laughs as she cheered for the three titles she had starred in. It was not one of her movies that took the award though. That honor went to Lizzy Borden’s �Fossil Fuckers 2″, making it a clean sweep for that line. Last year, it was FF 1 that took the prize. Lizzy was not on hand to accept the award, but can proudly display it next to her other one.
Overall the party and awards went very well. Everyone had a wonderful time and the discussions lasted in the early morning.
