The Pipeline: September 2005
As quickly as the summer came it prepares to leave us once again. It’s time for back to school sales, hot humid days, pennant races and those end-of-the-summer BBQs. The “Summer of 2257” will soon come to a close and the jury is still out on how far that mess will go. For those of us who live for bikini season the last few beach weekends can be very sad things, but that is where porn kicks in to ease the pain. As long as we have this year’s new crop of porn girls to keep us going through the fall and warm in winter then we should survive until next summer.
With all of the talking we have done about the Bush Administration and the new 2257 regs, it would be easy to forget that porn has no friends on the other side of the political aisle. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, a Democrat from Arkansas has proposed a new anti-porn bill. The bill would impose a 25 percent tax on the revenue of most adult-themed Web sites. Early indications are that such a bill would not pass in the Senate and that even if it were to become law, it would be struck down in court as an unfair method of stifling free speech. For those of you keeping track, the other Senate sponsors of the legislation–all Democrats–include Thomas Carper of Delaware, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, Ken Salazar of Colorado, Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, Evan Bayh of Indiana and Kent Conrad of North Dakota. I wonder if AVN, the FSC and other porners who have given money to the DNC can ask for some of it back to help pay for this proposed tax. Ouch.
Because what the world really needs is a new porn company, we have another one on the horizon. Jim Kohls and Mark Hamilton, both formerly of Hustler have created Pulse Pictures. The new production company will release their first title in September and will also distribute a wide variety of releases from a number of different companies. The first director to ink with Pulse is former DVSX shooter Bryan Xin. His first release “Cheek Freaks” is due out in mid-September. “I’m really excited to be working with the Pulse team,” said Xin. “They have gone to great lengths to support me as a director, and as a result Cheek Freaks is by far the best movie I’ve directed to date.”
Tera Patrick took the porn world by storm a few years back and she has been on top ever since. With Vivid handling her TeraVision projects in the States, Tera needed someone huge to take her global. To that end she has struck a deal with Private to spread her beauty and heat across the globe. From now on TeraVision products will be released under the Private label in all areas outside of the US. The combination of these two porn powerhouses is bound to spread Tear to the far corners of the globe in no time.
Gen Padova is one of the coolest women in all of porn with one of the best senses of humor you will ever come across. (She also has one of the best smiles one could ever cum across, but that’s a different story.) Her newest gig is a change of pace for the spunky little sperm sponge. After years of taking it in front of the camera Gen is set to do some damage from behind the lens. She makes her directorial debut this month with SkinTight Pictures Revenge of the Butt’er Face. Always quick with a quip, Padova had this to say. “Those teen movie offers aren’t gonna last forever,” says Padova. “I’m 24 now. All that’s left for me is scat, bestiality, and Rod Fontana movies.” Adding to the fun surrounding this release, Grip Johnson added “We’ve always been impressed with Gen’s creativity and intellect,” says Johnson, “Not only were we sure she’d do a great job directing, but she’d probably let us put our fingers in her to thank us for the opportunity. It was a win-win situation.” Isn’t it fun to see a company that doesn’t take itself too seriously?
Contract girls are a dime a dozen these days, but that hasn’t stopped Legend from seeking their own version of porn royalty. Unlike some of the big feature companies, Legend doesn’t scour the soft-core world to find their new girls. They ht the net and offered a sex picture deal to any woman who can fit their tough requirements. Legend contract girls will be expected to act in features, sign autographs, and show up to all scheduled engagements. Therefore, all applicants must know how to read, write, and tell time. This is non-negotiable. “We’re looking for girls who are pretty and professional,” says Legend Video owner Jack Richman, “The kind of girl you’d be proud to take home to mom. You know if your mom was a raging dyke.” Man you gotta love a company that can laugh at itself and the business in general.
Kinzie Kenner and Nautica Thorn have been giving us great scenes for a few years now, but until recently there is one thing they just wouldn’t do on camera. Neither of these cuties would give up the booty. That changes this month with a couple of releases that feature these two cuties in cheek splitting action. Elegant Angel is set to release “Kinzie’s Anal Adventure.” The movie will feature Kinzie in four full sex scenes as well as a solo and should bring her a new wave of fans. Nautica’s anal deflowering takes place in “Secret Desires” from AMA video and was recently released. It’s funny how a few stray comments can get on the net, get twisted and come out as something totally off the wall. Rumors were hot and heavy for a few days that Jenna Jameson was ready to do a scene with none other than Mike Tyson. Some simple investigation and logic could have cleared this up, but Jenna had to make it official, explaining what had happened. When word of Tyson’s financial struggles hit the news Jenna simply stated that some of the girls who work for Club Jenna might be willing to do a scene with the former heavyweight champ. No names were disclosed and no details offered. It was just an idea and certainly something that would pull in big money for all involved. This may or may not come to pass, but the mere suggestion of it raises a few questions. How wise is it for a company owner, especially a former performer, to even suggest the idea that one of her contract girls be thrown into a scene with a convicted rapist? Also how wise is it for a business that is under attack from the right and the left in American politics to embrace someone like Tyson. Consider that your first homework assignment for the new school year. Discuss it among yourselves and get back to me.
On a sad note, the porn world lost one of its own last month. Twenty-one year old Britney Madison passed away last month in Las Vegas. She and a male companion died in a single car accident in the early morning hours. No further details are available at this time.
