SWANK DIGITAL NAMED ‘BEST NEW VIDEO PRODUCTION COMPANY’ AT 2006 AVN AWARDS
(CHATSWORTH, CA) t Capping off a rookie year in which Swank Digital released 41 titles, they came away with the AVN Award for “Best New Video Production Company” at last week’s AVN Awards ceremony. It is the highest honor awarded to a new company and caps off a fantastic 2005.
“We are truly excited about this award. Just being nominated was an honor, especially in a category with so many other fine companies, ” an enthusiastic James Baes, President of Swank Digital, said shortly after receiving the coveted award. “We have worked hard in our first year to bring consumers quality movies, and we will continue to do so. We sincerely thank all of those who voted for us.”
“It was a close race amongst a lot of good new companies,” said Mike Ramone, Editor-in-Chief of AVN, on the accolade. “The quality of Swank Digital’s product is very good, the marketing and packaging had impact, and there was consumer awareness based on the lines of magazines [upon which the titles are based]. This company looks like it has a strong future, especially due to its new alliance with Pure Play.”
Swank Digital, who recently announced a distribution deal with Pure Play Media, released 41 titles in their first year of production. The Swank Digital line is based upon the magazines of the Magna Publishing Group, such as Swank, Genesis, Gent, Leg Action, Black Lust, Just 18 and more, which have a combined monthly readership of over 20 million readers. “Sales on all of our releases have surpassed expectations, and the 2006 forecast since joining forces with Pure Play should be even better,” Baes added.
“This award simply confirms what we thought about Swank Digital when we signed them for distribution. They are a great brand, and the movies are produced by James Baes, one of the top adult producers in the business.
