Fantasy Football: Week 5 Recap: Asa Akira’s Pure Perfection Stays Perfect
The first bye week is in the books and the separation between the haves and have nots has begun. If things keep going like this, I expect to see some protesters showing for an Occupy Fantasy Football Land with signs about the greedy 1%’ers who are using up everyone’s wins. After that failed little joke I’ll make a personal note that will probably guarantee a bad week this week. I ran the table in week 5, winning all seven ESPN match ups. Yahoo wasn’t quite as good, but I’ll take 7-0 any time.
Let’s make another call for some cheerleaders to keep things interesting. How about some fan sign shots from any female who wants to support her favorite team? What can I offer in the way of publicity to get some fun eye candy going? Thoughts?
Now for the recap:
League 1: AKA 2008 RogReviews.com League. Week five saw Rog’s Asa Akira Pure Perfection team ride a league high 178 points to a perfect 5-0. Astro’s Knights were on the bad end of a 59 point beat down. It was only the second biggest margin of victory however. Terry’s Boys Are Back took out Bono’s Jynx Maze team by a whopping 66 points. Willie D improved to 2-3 by beating the A-Holes 116-113. This week Team Analgroove tries to pin a loss on Rog’s team. Maybe if we get a few more wins we can convince Asa to take a fan sign shot or cheer naked for us.
League 2: AKA RogReviews.com League 1 (Confusing names man.) Week five saw the closest game in this league go to a pair of anemic teams. The Kangaroos beat Lexi’s Belle Ringers 65-62. Rog edged out the Boston Haze by 5 to take over the top slot in the league, but not every game was close. Digital Playground’s Cody Bangs put a 62 point whipping on the SteeleCityPornos who managed just 50 points total. Week six features a rematch of the week one battle between TDs & Beer and Red’s Potatoes. TD hung Rog with his only loss of the season that week. Is revenge in the air?
League 3: AKA Rog Review Naughty & Nice The league that everyone forgot continues to be a one man show. Boston Haze moved his record to 5-0 with no slowing down in site. The rest of the league seems to be on cruise control. Interest is at an all time low and that’s too bad. This is a good scoring system and with a full league, next year should be fun. In the meantime, Haze remains the big bad fish in this very small and quiet pond.
League 4: AKA RogReviews League 2 The scores in this league reflect the parity. With one week wiped out thanks to a last draft, this league still has no unbeaten teams and thanks to a win this week by IAFD Jeff, no team is winless. P Wing beat the Good Girls by 2 while Rog beat Ivan by 5. Team Yeung scored a league high 121 in beating the Peanuts to run his record to 3-1. This week’s top game features Yeung taking on With only two games separating top from bottom, this continues to one of the most interesting leagues on the list.
